Re: Enemy at the Gates / Ron Perlman

Given my low opinion of most of Hollywood's " performers", I would not seek many of them out for any reason let alone putting their names on my gear. I don't know this particular actor, what kind of person he might be off camera, hopefully not one of the anti gun, anti America crowd who pi...

Re: M39 no shims and not free floated

Many of these M39's passed through the hands of the Burn's family in NY some 20 years back. I remember hearing storys about how they were pulling actions out of stocks looking at the tang dates on the receiver hoping for pre 1899 dates that they would then sell for more money as no FFL was needed to...

Re: Enemy at the Gates / Ron Perlman

Have the actor sign a copy of the movie, not the real weapon given that he is not a real Soviet Great Patriotic war sniper.

Re: 1897 full matching Dragoon and a mystery device

By the look of the markings on the stock someone was in one hell of a fight against an edged weapon. Sword, blade bayonet, or E-tool maybe. Cool :)

Re: Mosin Nagant bolt won’t close

Hello, I bought a mosin and i can't close the bolt with round (without it roons smoothly). It feeds it into the chamber without issue, but cant rotate it more than a little bit. I removed the extractor but the problem is still there. I cleaned the bolt and receiver with WD40 but it didnt help. I ca...

Re: Finnish M91 in M91/30 laminate stock?

I suppose if they captured a rifle from the Soviets during the later part of the continuation war they might have gotten a Soviet laminated stock. I don't recall hearing that the Finn's made their own laminated stocks given the huge number of Soviet weapons captured between 1939-1944. I also don't r...

Evaporust would probably also work. I have used it to soak brass parts, it will tone the metal, but remove the crud. Looks like the bullets came out all right.

Re: 1945 M38 Izhevsk M38 for sale

No, for the tang date you must remove the action from the stock, flip it over and look at the very rear of the receiver were the bolt goes through. There should be numbers and arsenal mark there. Just take a picture of the numbers and that will be what racerguy is looking for.

Re: Made in Russia; Recycled in Ukraine

Somebody gave me a couple of these awhile back, I always wonder if it was part of a tank, or old sewer pipes blown out of the streets from Soviet bombs.
