Re: Better lucky than good

Second try. The M44 is not unissued and lacks a cleaning rod & sling. Still, not bad for $249. http://i1130.photobucket.com/albums/m533/Phatass56/image_zps2cf6154d.jpg http://i1130.photobucket.com/albums/m533/Phatass56/image_zps4b8f9dcd.jpg http://i1130.photobucket.com/albums/m533/Phatass56/imag...

Re: Better lucky than good

Pictures today guys, I promise. I don't know whether my M44 was unissued, but it is very nice. Unfortunately, it lacks a sling. I have several Soviet slings, but no Polish. It's really good to be back.

Better lucky than good

Been gone for awhile, but thought I'd drop back in after my most recent find. It was just dumb luck, but I'll take it. I wandered into my LGS the other day, and what did I spy upon the consignment gun rack? A virtually pristine 1952 Polish M44...for $249.00. I grabbed it and bought it immediately. I...

PU accuracy

Guys, For those of you who have a PU sniper, what kind of accuracy are you achieving? What is a realistic expectation of accuracy from an old PU that is in good shape, assuming good ammunition? I have read that good PU snipers rifles could average 1.5 MOA with some substantially better than that. Wh...

First off, thanks for all the kind words and drooling... Yes, I hunt with mine, elk specifically here in Washington. Re: Is the SKS sufficient enough for rural survival?

Is an SKS enough? In short, yes. But like anything else, it depends on the operator, their situation and a host of variables that could easily change the calculus. Having said that, situations could arise which would preclude ANY firearm being enough. I would place a higher value on traditional skil...

My and my wifes Lancaster style flintlock rifles

Here are our flintlock rifles. They are contemporary made by my favorite, and superb gunsmith, Brad Emig of Cabin Creek Muzzleloading. Mrs. GS is .40 caliber and mine is .58. Hers is obviously made for a petite woman (which she is) and is just a scaled down version of mine. The .40 has a length of p...
