brightening front sight.

As happens from time to time, our plans changed this weekend. So I went to the range with my pistols. It is over cast and dreary today and I noticed right off the bat (not a Negan bat) that I couldn't see the front sight on the 1911 A1 .22. Makes it hard to shoot you know? Any suggestions on what to...

Only had time to fire a couple of rounds at 200 with my - new to me - m39 last week , but it appears promising http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20161024/14d0fea5ec1be58ea1188f22e387b0bd.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Promising indeed!! Re: Home on the range!! 200 yards or 182.88 meters

Sure wish it wasn't so far to go to a long range. There is on in Sacramento that goes out to 1000 yards. Of course the targets grow the farther out it goes. I really need to get to the 200 yard range more than once every year and a half. lol

Home on the range!! 200 yards or 182.88 meters

So much fun!! Of course, I'm the only one there with iron sights. Several very good shooters there. It was such a blast. I took my M39, newest 91/30 and the '40 and '42 VKT M91s. I shot the steel a lot. I even had an audience for a minute. First round I hit steel (8" round) once with the 91/30 ...

Right? :chuckles: :chuckles:

When using stuff like Hoppes9 that comes in jar, how do you apply it to the patch? Dip it? I've been using a syringe of sorts but it sticks.

I use a lot of Hopps 9 as well.

Nothing was sticky after I started using Frog lube. I use that when I am on my way out to go shoot.

Re: Very intersting or uh oh?

lets see, Pro Shot 1 step cleaner (the stuff that comes with cleaning kits, kind of reddish) and Ballistol was the second. I've put about 400 rounds through since the last time I cleaned it. I am out of, ah hell, I can't remember the name of it now. lol Red stuff? Real smelly, works real good on the...

Very intersting or uh oh?

As I am not overly experienced with hand guns I found it kind of weird that when I cleaned my XD9, the barrel wasn't dirty. :o

Winchester just some super extra clean rounds? lol

I mean, there was nothing on the wads. Two types of cleaning solution too. No brush though.
