Re: "Actual Shipping Cost"
I understand shipping ammo can be expensive, but I have tons of boxes, and it isn't a big deal using UPS or FedEx. I mean, Sportsmans Guide ships me all sorts of ammo. From one 7.62x54r box, to a whole spam can. FREE. I know they take a hit but they've earned my loyalty for the stuff I can find on t...

Re: Finnish M28/30 barrel marking question
Picked it up today. Looks nice, action is fairly smooth, bore is worn and a little pitted (to be expected from an old battle rifle), and is counterbored about 1/2-3/4 inches. The bolt is all Westinghouse as far as I can see, the receiver is Remington. Chambers, cycles, and ejects dummy rounds just f...

Re: Finnish M28/30 barrel marking question
Well then, I guess that's why I can't find anything about it. We'll just make something up then. "The #2 stamp symbolizes a 2nd run of that barrel line, with improvements like self cleaning barrel lands, funkadelic grooves, and metallic blue."

Finnish M28/30 barrel marking question
I won a M28/30 off Gunbroker. Picking up from my FFL tomorrow. It is a D stamped rifle, and I understand what most of the marks are, but does anyone know what the #2 above the Sako wheel means? I searched Google, 7.62x54.net, and mosinnagant.net and was unable to find the Finn #2 stamp. Thanks for a...

Re: Is the French contract Mosin the best type of Mosin?
The Remington and Westinghouse rifles were the best. Made in 'Merica. Nuff said, no French stuff needed here.

Took my wife's 410 Mossberg and swapped barrels and added a 5 shot tube in place of the 3 shot tube.

Re: well im in need of....
I googled the 1907 carbine to see what it looks like, and the pics look like it has the 91/30 style bands. If you cannot find something, you may be able to use a 91/30 handguard(s) to make a good one for yours. I used a M44 handguard for my chopped Remington M91. I know it's not what you are looking...

It's also easier to claim ignorance than outright lie because you don't have to worry about body language or inconsistencies as they can be played off as concerned nervousness and confusion over the incident. I think that's why he never said he didn't stamp them. Anyone see anything odd about anythi...

Re: personal favorite it your collection?
If we are talking ANY rifle, not specific to Mosins, and it was a grab only one and run out the door SHTF kinda deal, I'd probably grab my Vepr .308.Mosin wise, my Remington M91/M38 (clone), or M39.

Re: Chilean 1912/61 short rifle nato conversion
I like these rifles a lot. When living in Atlanta, I could only shoot at an indoor range. I got a case or two of that blue plastic German (swiss?) Practice ammo. Great time to shoot this one and nicely accurate indoors. I too have used that blued training ammo in all my converted Mausers. Good stuf...

Any experience with this 7.62x54r ammo?
I bought a stash of this from the guy who sold me my Tula sniper last weekend. I have never seen this brand, but I recall one type of NON-corrosive commercial ammo actually being corrosive. Headstamp is LVE 10. Anyone shot it, have any experience with it? Is it any good, and experience? I am not fam...

Re: New sniper for me. Need guidance
It was originally bought from AIM, but has the Molot markings. The scope is all cloudy, is I am looking for a repro scope for range use, and I'll just box the original and keep it with the rifle.
