Re: Type 53 Value?

Hi all, Value/price question: I found a nice looking 1955 Chinese Type 53. The stock has been refinished, and I suspect the rifle may have been reblued, but it’s hard to tell. It’s listed for $350. Is this a fair price, or is this highway robbery? Any guidance helps! I wouldn't pay more than $200. ...

Re: 1943 M-44

I sold a 43 Izhevsk Trials rifle to a fellow forum member a few years back & have regretted it ever since. Unfortunately said member does not part with items once acquired. I still have one left in my collection but am unwilling to part with it.

Re: What rating is this bore?

One of the reasons I bought a lot of Mosins back in the day was to find good shooters. I had ones with near new bores all the way to sewer pipes. I found that bore condition wasn't always telling to potential accuracy. As long as it looks good enough take it out to the range give it a go, see what i...

Re: Crazy Ivan

Why should they bother? They already annexed the Crimea and it's too costly to do an outright invasion in today's world. But a threat of an invasion can be far more beneficial to them. With just the threat, everyone is fleeing Ukraine like rats on a sinking ship, no one will be investing in them for...

Re: Tell me about my m39

Wow, thats a nice value increase! It didnt come with the original sights, so Ill have to get some. I am actually considering selling it. Is there a particular reason it increased so much recently? What might it be worth in another 5,10,15 yrs? First off.... :alien: AND :welcome3: In it's current co...

Re: Mosin-Nagant 91/30 - 1942 Izhevsk

Congrats!!!! Never call it run-of-the-mill.... One of my favorite Mosins is my 42 Izhevsk 91/30. Has a horrible & stiff trigger that I hate; But after shooting hundreds of rounds through it I became a better shot as a result. Love that gun!!!! 1942 Izhevsk 9130 AAA1.jpg 1942 Izhevsk 9...

Re: Early mostly original 1894 chatellerault.

I have an 1895 Chatellerault in about the same shape. I slugged the bore and came up with .311 inch. It is a Finn rifle. When I get home in a little over a month, I'll post pics of the markings. Very sweet shooting rifle as well. Paid $39.00 for it in the early 1990's. Bill Wow.... $39!! I regret n...

Re: M44 Failed Bullet Test

The bullet test really isn't a tell all in regards to accuracy. I have a few rifles with worn out crowns & no Counterbore that shoot tight groups. The test you need to concern yourself with is checking headspace. If you don't already have one; Go get yourself a good No-Go or Field gauge. Congrat...
