Re: Single action rimfires
Yes. It actually sold with the magnum cylinder. The Barkeep is also rated for the magnum as it is the same frame with a shorter barrel. The Heritage models that don’t come with a magnum cylinder have a coupon in the box to get free shipping on a magnum cylinder which costs 30.00

Single action rimfires
Heritage recently introduced a new model 22 called the Barkeep. 2” barrel with the full size grip frame which looked a little funny to me but when I found one at Academy for 150.00 I grabbed it and swapped out the grip frames with my Rough Rider. I still need to go shoot it. I put the magnum cylinde...

Re: Westinghouse Mosin Markings?
I know I’m a little late commenting but congrats on owning a very nice collectible rifle. Now it may be old and collectible but assuming that it passes a thorough inspection and has a good headspace check it is still very shootable. Consider that ammo for these is corrosive which is of no concern as...

Re: Current component availability...
Here we are 6 weeks since the last post in this thread and things are worse than ever. No primers, powder, reloading tools, or ammo on the shelves. My local reloading/ammo store has some powder and I bought a pound of IMR Red and Hogdon Universal to use in my pistol rounds. Didn’t have to have it bu...

Re: 9mm ammo price?
I went to Academy yesterday and all they had was 28 ga shotgun shells. Next truck in 5 days they said. I’m good anyways, just thought I’d get out and take a look

Mosin 91/30
Yes this is a 91/30 not a carbine. The thing that comes to my mind is that it is a matching parts Tula 1942 rifle that was put into a very nice Hungarian stock. Decommissioned by drilling a hole through the receiver and barrel and welding it back up. Is there a pin or rod in the welded area that ext...

Dang nice. That doesn’t look like the standard edition wood. Gotta be a deluxe model? 2 thumbs up on that one

Re: Gun show.......
That would be the mini Mosin in single shot 22LR? I was in Academy 2 weeks ago and saw a Mossberg Maverick 5 shot 12 ga for 200.00 but passed because I just bought a defense 12 ga. When I got home I saw the exact shotgun on Gunbroker and bids were already over 500.00! People have gone berserk!

Gun show.......
The last gun show I went to was 2 months ago and it was the same crap. I saw a vendor selling 150 Rd boxes of Browning plinking 9mm ammo for 125.00! Not no but hell no for me. I was buying these same boxes at Academy for 26.99 before the pandemic. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20210109/342523b052...

Sonny, I hope you didn’t cancel your Wrangler order. I walked into Academy the other day and found a special edition with wood grips and holster so I had to have it. Plays nice with my black Wrangler. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20201228/e9107c70c58c9d60b9282efb5b8add23.jpg https://uploads.tapa...

That is very nice. Those orange plastic or Bakelite or whatever they are knobs are often chipped and I had a source for them a few years ago but can’t remember now. They can be found

Steel that sure is a good looking rifle! If you bought it for 200 I’d say you got the deal of the day. The sling looks like what came with my Russian M44

I agree jeeplover, you do have some nice rifles. Good to see you investigating them and learning what you can. They are very often great shooters so I hope you get the chance to shoot them soon.

Re: Ruger Old Army range time
The older I get the more I like single action revolvers, and at the range you don’t have to hoof it 100 yards to fix your target
