Re: (Early) Christmas and Birthday Present:
I wish it was a Weatherby rifle. Still a cool shotgun though. It's taken 6 years to find one, even through a dealer.

Re: (Early) Christmas and Birthday Present:
For that price, you can't go wrong; not much to go wrong on a single anyways. Might go to the range this weekend. My dad is probably going to be ordering a Weatherby PA-08 with the skull stock, so may not have any range money.bunkysdad wrote:$100.00? That sounds good! You should have fun with that one.

(Early) Christmas and Birthday Present:
Was at the pawn shop and saw a beautiful single shot I didn't want to leave behind. It's an EAA Baikal IZH-18EM-M. It has the coolest release I've ever seen. Basically it's a $100 Ruger #1 in 12 gauge. Walnut stock, nickleplated reciever, vent rib barrel, various chokes, gold trigger. Picture's will...

Smith and Wesson 1000M: My first auto!
No pics for now. It has decent wood on it. 2 3/4" barrel, but from what I've read, the "M" designates a 3" reciever. I'm also wondering how I can tell if it's the old or new production (I'm assuming old). It has screw in chokes and the old style thick brown buttpad. It was too be...

Re: 45-70 govt
sorry JYD i was just excited. Ber he's criticising you. It's just that at our age and shooting thousands of rounds you become somewhat immuned to the kick. Well that is unless you do like I did a few months back and shoot both barrels of a double barrel 12ga. I can shoot Mosin Nagants all day as we...

Re: 40 s&w or 45 ACP?
My plan when I got the 9mm was to also get the carbine. Then I could stock one kind of ammo. And then something happened....I watched some videos on YouTube, one of which was Hickock45 our something like that and then...........MOSINITIS!! :D . now I can get the 45 carbine and oh man.....what a mes...

Re: 40 s&w or 45 ACP?
I am not much of a sidearm man, give me a rife any day, or a shotgun, sidearms are for fighting your way back to your rifle if you were stupid enough to leave it someplace in the first place :) I couldn't agree more. If handguns were better, why would they still make home defence long guns? Just ca...

Re: Western Field Bolt Action
Considering how long Montgomery Wards has been out of business, that shotgun looks B-rand new That's just the camera. It is pretty clean, but it's got nicks here and there. I don't know if I should stain it or not. The blueing however does look brand new, along with the sights. Hardly any residue i...

Re: Western Field Bolt Action
I had a 20 ga. Mossberg bolt action with the adjustable choke modifier that screws on. I was 14 yrs old and was very surprised when I shot the end off the choke because I did not tighten it down all the way. It made quite a splash in the lake where I was duck hunting.Just a word of caution ,if you ...
