Sighting In
I want to sight my rifle in at 100 yards. It shoots about twelve inches high at that range now with max adjustment on the rear sight. Can I buy a front sight that will allow me to get those twelve inches down to zero?

Re: bolt won't close with round. :(
You Tube has several good videos on how to disassemble and clean your rifle. I bought a 4.0” dia PVC pipe and one end-cap. After complete disassembly I put the barrel down the pipe and poured in mineral spirits. All the smaller parts, including the disassembled bolt, you can use any shallow pan. Goo...

Re: Shooting Short
Thanks Rob and Dolk. Both of those sound like winners. I've gotten the windage worked out and plan on shooting 100 yards or more, but I'd like to get the fifty yard mark nailed down first.

I like shooting at fifty yards, but as we all know, you have to aim low.
Has anyone modified either the front or back sight of a 91/30 to shoot at 50 yards.

Re: Bolt Will Not Close
Yes...the gun was clean and clear. The bold closes nicely without a round. The round falls freely in and out of the chamber. Millman thanks. I'll check the extractor.

Bolt Will Not Close
I bought my first Mosin, a 1929 ex-Dragoon and shot it for the first time today. It did great. I bought my brother at 1938 Mosin Nagaint 91/30 and also took it to the range. Problem, the bolt works great without ammo, but put a round in and the bolt will not close. What should I do? Thanks, RM

Stand Up and Be Counted
I'm new here and this may have been ask several times before, but does anyone know how many Nagants were made total. That's all models and variants.
I’ve heard seventeen million, but don’t know for sure.

Re: Head Space
May have found the issue. I brought several rounds to show some friends what the 7.62 x 54r looks like. In doing so, I noticed a small scratch on the neck down area of three different rounds. The scratches all look the same. I’m guessing there is a burr on the receiver. I’ll check that when I get ho...

Front Sight
I plan to carry my 90/30 to the range for the first time Saturday. What is the best method to adjust the front sight, should I need to?
Thanks,

Re: Head Space
dubois I'm ashamed to say I was going to bolt my rifle down and string fire the first round. The bolt is firm without a round, but is firmer with one. The receiver is clean, so I guess I’ll write it off to rugged Russian guns.

Head Space
I bought my first Nagant over the Christmas holidays and have since bought one for my brother and one for his son. After giving the gun a good cleaning, I find the bolt tight. How do I adjust the head space?
Thanks,
