I don't think the bolt is Romanian though. The markings don't match anything shown on 7.62x54.net.

Hmm...well the receiver is Romanian, I'm quite sure of that. It has the Romanian RPR in wreath crest and arrowhead in triangle factory mark. Also,it has a c in a diamond (4th picture) which I've been told is Romanian. Who knows maybe the stock was Hungarian. The Romanians were known to use parts fro...

Not yet. Hopefully in a couple weeks I'll have some spare time to take her to the range. But the guy I bought it from says it shoots pretty well. And he's a good friend of mine so I'm inclined to believe him.

Was disassembling my m44 and noticed the guide rod on the bolt has a slight inward bend to it ,which pushes on the bolt head to where it looks ever so slightly canted.Is this normal? It doesn't seem to affect function at all, but it has me a little concerned.

Hey everybody new to the forum. Just got my first rifle yesterday. A 1954 Romanian M44. A little beat up and needs some TLC but still shoots just fine.
