Well folks, tomorrow is Memorial day again.
My family lost members in the French and Indian wars before there was a nation. I don't think that we lost any in the Revolution although two that I know of served. Lost one in the Seminole wars, and another in the Civil War. (wrong side) Lost a cousin (distant) at the Alamo, and My Grandmother lost...

Re: Something to make you laugh.
When we were kids we used to put together football games on Sunday afternoons. We played in an active cow pasture so getting tackled in a pile of cow shit was not unheard of. I remember the time that one of the guys was going out for a long pass, forgetting that he was close to the electric fence. H...

Re: New roof going on today
You aren't kidding on all the extra steps they must do now. Glad yall got a good solid roof over your heads now.. The Hispanic crew that did our roof was the same way. Busted their asses, some rebuilding the damaged eaves, some replacing bad and missing decking, some running extra nails. Before we ...

New roof going on today
An all Hispanic crew of 8 men got here this morning at 7:30, In about an hour they will be done. It is a more complicated roof than most, covering a little over 2,000 sq. ft. of floor, three valleys and three hips. They replaced the equivilent of a dozen sheets of plywood where the old roof penetrat...

I only have one. In honor of Darryl, I pulled it out of the safe for a couple of pics for you to view. This one from the "Forgotten War." Sorry about the upside down and sideways photo, the sight apparently did not like my editing. If you click on the photo, it will display properly.

Re: The Smith and Wesson 1903 got a new house today.
Here is the holster for the 1905 4th change made this morning. This revolver is an interesting piece, made in 1917 it is a 5" round butt. I believe that the finish is chrome, but I am not certain. The grips are matching to the revolver (penciled) and I have been told that they are hard to come ...

Re: Help Identifying possible M91/30
Son, if these old boys tell you that it is a refurbished 91/30, with a post-war laminate stock with a repair, you can take it to the bank. I ain't one, but there are some experts on Russian rifles on this forum. You are at the point that some of these guys were 30 or 40 years ago. I am still an appr...

Re: Hospitalization
Mike, do they do the proceedure with catherization or do they have to open you up? Catheterization, when I had my first one done they went in through both sides of my groin and through my left wrist. Then up to six hours on my back after they are done, to make sure the plug/stitch in the femoral ar...

Re: Does anyone know someone that is familiar with
The reason I was asking is I bought a cheap holster on eBay. It came yesterday. The leather was in really good condition, soft and supple. The stitching was shot, the thread rotten. I restitched the thing, applied some leather conditioner and it is now a nice holster. It is a perfect fit for a 1917 ...

They were tough enough to survive two world wars. I have never seen a broken one either and at one time I owned 75 of them.
