Re: Vietnam Era Photos of Type-53's.
I do, indeed, remember the Norinco SKS I bought, NIB, with accessories for $79.00. That must have been about '95. I was told I got took, cause they could be bought for $69.00. At that time, I was the only person I knew who knew what a SKS was. (I found out after I bought it)

#25
I thought I posted this earlier, if I did, throw a rock at me and delete the post. UPS brought Mosin Nagant #25 today. I plan to have a party on the range in the morning. Nothing really special about this rifle, except that it is now mine. I was missing a '41 to fill in the war years and give me a s...

Re: CZ52 Purchase
L.C. I have wanted one of these things for a while, I thought it would go good with my TTC. I hope you report back that they are garbage and not worth a damn so I can quit wanting one. I haven't seen any at any local gun shows in a while, what would I expect to pay for one now days?

Re: Two New Snipers.............
I am just curious, just how good do these rifles perform? Will they hang with a medium priced modern rifle with a $200.00 scope? I probably will not get to find out on my own.

That is very handy information.
I have always been very good with figures.
Not so good with numbers.

That is pretty neat. I haven't a clue about Afganistan.
Does this one have a tang date?

Re: mikerb55 Rifle
The ones that come from the wholesalers, or major retailers, without any stops at individuals, seem to have the best barrels. Most of the ones I have gotten from private sellers or pawn shops have pitted barrels. I suspect most of the damage; wood, metal and bore, occur in the good old USA. Some but...

Re: Monday shoot
NYS has a rule that all modern handguns, even C&R guns have to be transferred through a 001 FFL, that means inflated prices and the $75 transfer fee along with all the hassle of adding another handgun to the licence. I will wait until one walks in the door in trade like the Nagant did, I am jus...

Re: Monday shoot
Always been a wheelgun man, I like a big revolver with some heft to it, the only autoloader I ever recommend when asked is the 1911, John Browning knew his shit, and the pistol proved it's worth in four wars and many smaller fights. I have no experiance with the commie pistols, nobody I know around...

Re: Got my first in Jan and something happened
She is still here. Lesson learned though, don't come home with 4 at one time. :D She is actually a pretty good sport about it and thinks they are cool. I will get some better pics than what I have right now on the M91. But as a teaser it's a 1940 Tikka built on a 1900 Tula, AZF and Czech S*4, and П...

Yea, I know, the same thing happened to me. Has your wife left yet?
Beat the rush and build a bigger rack. You are gonna need it.

Buckeye I love that stock repair. I recently saw one like that on a Mosins for sale at Cabelas. Should have bought it. Tapatalk That's is so funny...looking to buy a rifle "for" the stock repairs...only a Mosin huh... :P Now that you bring it up, it is rather funny. Other collectors would...

Re: Strange mark on my mosin
Here is another "unknown" unsusal marking on the barrel shank of a '42 Tula 91/30.
I had to apply a little chalk to bring it out. If anyone knows what this means, let me know.

Monday shoot
Today was my regular Monday to be off, so I slept in (7:00) drank a cup and pulled out two of my favorite shooters for a little "quality time" at my range. My lifetime favorite is my 1911 (duh) but I am becoming attached to my '53 Romainian TTC (Tokarev). I bought this one a couple of year...
