Adjusting M39 front sight
hey everyone I have an M39 that is shooting to the right of POA at all distances. Looking at group placement on targets at 100m I'm gonna say she is about 2.0-2.5 MOA off. Does anyone have any advice for adjusting the front sight to remedy this situation i.e. do's and dont's tips for getting it righ...

Re: M39 range report
Thats a great hit at 200m. I recommend reloading. I have reloaded with 174gn Sierra match kings in .311 for my 41' Sako M39 with rather good results at 100m. Pretty darn good for an 80 year old rifle with a well used Bore

Re: M39 Shooting high
I found the same the thing in that the M39 I have does indeed shoot high at 100m. I was trying out some handloads just the other day and found it easier to test it at 200m than 100m. At 100m I was aiming at the base of a 1ft target to get bullets landing in the Bulls eye/ 9&10 rings. So a signif...

Re: M39 vs 200 yard steel
Im using 180gn Seĺlier and bellot in FMJ and its going quite high so its must bd a common trait in thd calibre/rifle. A couple of weeks back I managed to get on to a 12inch target at 380 meters. The target was of a brush turkey silouhette. My site was set at about 275m (3/4 between 200-300 on the si...

Re: Hungarian Mosin M91/30 quality
haha...yeh mate it's not my preference to intentionally cut short expansion plans for my collection but requirements on safe storage and paper work required prior to purchasing over here means any purchase comes with a real opportunity cost and investment. I might unload a crappy little .22LR i have...

Re: Hungarian Mosin M91/30 quality
Thanks guys, i appreciate the advice about these. I have already met my quota for additional rifles this year(a recent purchase of an M38 swede Mauser did that) but I'm tempted as I'm loving the 7.62x54R calibre in my '41 Sako M39 and figured one more in this calibre would go great Too many guns to ...

Hungarian Mosin M91/30 quality
Hey everyone I was wondering if anyone could provide some experience in the quality of the Hungarian made M91/30? I have seen one advertised and was tempted to pick it up. They are claiming 'unissued condition' but wanted to see what they are like quality wise compared to others and if anyone had fi...

Re: Reloading Sellier and bellot 7.62x54R
Not quite. Pump and semi auto (rifles and shotguns) are effectively restricted to farmers and professional pest controllers, the rest are okay...handguns are obtainable but strictly managed.
I just really like the old rifles

Re: Reloading Sellier and bellot 7.62x54R
Thanks for the advice everyone. I will be purchasing in bulk sellier and bellot 180g FMJ to shoot with my '41 M39 and will have a heap of once fired, fire-formed brass after that so i thought I would get into reloading as a hobby and hopefully improve accuracy from this beautiful rifle. I will have ...

Reloading Sellier and bellot 7.62x54R
Hey everyone
I am about to start buying sellier and bellot 7.62x54R factory ammo and was wondering if anyone of the more experienced hands on here had any experience reloading sellier and bellot brass; good, bad or otherwise.
Cheers in advance

Re: First M39...what should I look for
SBY, thanks for the advice of lemon oil. Is that something you find in your local grocery store or a hardware store. I'm thinking I want to get the tools to disassemble and clean thoroughly so I will look at that closely when I get the rifle, but not looking to jump into that too quickly. Attached b...

Re: First M39...what should I look for
Thanks for the advice everyone and I hand picked it myself...no charge for picking a beaten up junker. I had a good look at the bore, the action felt great and looked pretty good considering the age. JYD thanks for the heads up about the windage arm. It will go a long way. I'm planning on shooting i...

First M39...what should I look for
Hi everyone I'm about to take delivery of my first M39, 1941 Sako. I have wanted one ever since i read about them about a year ago in a review (cant remember the publication). I watched various vids on YouTube seeing how well they shoot and following various threads on this forum hearing very little...
