Re: what kind of gun do i have
Wow! That thing is rusted. As Miller Tyme said, it is a cadet rifle. Here are two links of a neat device used on these rifles. Both links just have brief descriptions, but it is just another facet of Mosin history: http://www.peashooter85.com/post/41909436764/the-mosin-nagant-cummings-dot-rifle-one-...

Re: New to Mosin
Get a C&R, kiss your wallet goodbye. I got mine last year and have bought 45 rifles so far (sold some of them). Mosins are very interesting. Seems like there is always something to learn.

Re: A couple historic pics with MN's...
Nice photo on top. Rifle still has the finger rest. I assume those are two cartridge boxes on the soldier's sides? The older imperial equipment looks much better than the Soviet era equipment, IMO.

Re: Dragoon with 2nd pattern hand guard. No Crossbolt
Thanks. I have a spare 91/30 stock if I ever care to just shoot the rifle. I forgot, I have a photo of where the old cleaning rod retaining nut cut out (long word) was filled in. I think that photo is on my phone. For some reason, I can't upload them right now. Another neat thing is I've never seen ...

Re: My first Finn - a 1942 hex, M91 Tikka
I saw that you listed it as a double date in a previous post. The receiver is a Tula from the 1919's to late 1920's. So, it's possible that the date on the receiver's tang is 1925. Nice looking rifle.

Yes, the sellers photos were pretty bad. Made a nice rifle look questionable.mitch5690 wrote:Those pics are leagues better than the original ones you posted from the add

Dragoon with 2nd pattern hand guard. No Crossbolt
I've been wanting to post this rifle for a while, and figured I would after seeing some other rifles won at auctions recently. The rifle is a 1916 Dragoon that I saw on an online auction a few months ago. I was interested in the rifle because of the 2nd pattern hand guard. I check this auction site ...

Looks like he's from the UKmillman wrote:It isn't Nazi. It appears to be a relatively current German proof mark. Are you in Germany? That rifle has been.

Re: What is this bird symbol on my mosin
That's a Weimer Eagle. Germany used a different eagle during 1944. With the word "Arian" printed below, I would think this was done by a previous owner...unless this is something new that I've never seen before.

Re: 1911 Sestroryetsk with Serb Crown
Haha. I believe it was worth what I paid for it. Another collector wanted it, and was willing to pay a fair price. I was going to pay off some past purchases...but that hasn't worked out too well. I did replace it with another Sestroryesk....not as nice as this one, but it's still nice.

Re: 1911 Sestroryetsk with Serb Crown
That is a cool and unique Sestroryetsk that I was going to bid on but there was talk about it and some of the sellers others. There were obvious shiny marks in the patina on some of the others where they had been polished and restamped. All stamped on the body and not the knob. Those sales have now...

This is stamped with a Finn property mark, and the Finns usually force match the bolts. Also, the bolt was packed i...

S5.jpg S6.jpg S7.jpg S8.jpg S9.jpg S9A.jpg S9B.jpg S9C.jpg S9D.jpg S9E.jpg I was looking through some photos as I wanted to post a nice Dragoon I purchased earlier in the year, and thought I'd share a pretty neat Sestroryetsk.
