Non Import-marked VZ 52 Rifle.

What would a VZ 52, good metal finish, worn wood finish, couple of stock dents (looks like it might have been dropped in large gravel.) be worth? SHE, no import marks.

The handle isn't the stressed part while firing, the head is where all the stress is so i don't see a problem.

not bad for 15 years out of cosmo then.

Picked up an M38 Today.

It was being advertised as an "M44 without the bayonet"

But when I paid closer attention to the pictures...

It was a 1944 Izhevsk M38 in the correct M38 stock, completely unblemished!

Cleaning rod is present, rifling is immaculate!

Pics later when I can get some that actually look good.

Re: NOTICE...ATF CHANGES IT'S MIND

They are still legal to use at designed, as soon as you shoulder it, it is then illegal. I have a SBR, a fun gun but it is so stupid to pay for the tax on a gun that falls between a pistol and a rifle. That is what I thought. I don't see it as they changed their mind. Shouldering the stock is using...

Re: SKS leaky gas tube.

How much too short? 1/4 inch or so? A threaded barrel stock will fit on a pinned barrel action, but it will not work the other way around without work/fitting. yeah just about, and it's cut for a blade bayonet. the stock i have on it right now fits perfectly and is cut for a tent spike, but the bla...

Re: SKS leaky gas tube.

this stock is actually too short, the rear locking pin for the trigger group is tight against the back, but the front does not reach the plate attached to the barrel.

okay, any idea why the stock that came with it doesn't fit? the front doesn't actually notch into the front plate, but all the replacements do.

Re: SKS leaky gas tube.

The don't base anything on the stock that the 21408 rifle is sitting in; it was a chinese stock i had laying around while the glue on the one i got with it is drying.

Re: SKS leaky gas tube.

This SKS has literally no letters of any kind. No characters, no letters, no stamps. Just highly precise numbering, not the angled and irregular stamping of a chinese (where each number looks like it was stamped individually) this looks like a clean, crisp, precise stamping. Oddly: The bolt carrier ...

Re: SKS leaky gas tube.

Well yeah but a M59 is a little more desirable, you know?

I have another T56 and the stampings and serial number fonts don't match at all between them.

It's not a T56, it's a Yugo M59, apparently.

gasblock is clean, tube wobbles on the block, inside of the tube is pitted like mad on the first half inch.

SKS leaky gas tube.

So I've got what i am told is a type-56 SKS, but it only has english numbering and no russian or chinese characters of any kind. it is leaking from the end of the gas tube where it meets the gas block, and so it won't cycle. It will cycle on a gas tube i pulled off another T56, and i have rigged up ...
