Re: New acquisition...'91 Argentine

Argy is like slang, or an abreviation, for Argentine, Jim. Like Yugo is short for Yugoslavian.

Cal, like ET said, the crests were scrubbed on most of these. You've got a great looking rifle there.

Gawd forbid I die and not enjoy my own firearms :o
We all enjoy them different ways though, nothing wrong with that. But the more collectible it is the more I want to shoot it

Re: Online Ammo

So, what happened to the policy, that was supposed to come into effect in June or July, that limited bank charges to the retailer to $.25 per transaction? If they are paying .$25 and charging me 3%, it is highway robbery. Good question. I own a business. I process credit cards. I didn't hear about ...

Re: Online Ammo

CC fees don't bother me anymore. They are either added into the purchase price, or in a lot of cases with purchases today you are given the option to save 3% by sending a check. Your choice.
The ammo arrived fast and is very clean.

I thought we were forbidden for discussing these rifles, or did that change?
Hopefully it did.

Yessiree. I love this gun. It doesn't jump up and slap my cheek like my Supermatch did. Pure joy to shoot.

Re: Family Heirloom....

All I know about Smith & Wessons is, when the LGS gets a used/vintage one in, it ain't cheap and it sells fast. He keeps telling me that collecting S&W's is where the increased value is.

That's a beautiful heirloom piece. I can't wait to hear what you learn about it.

Re: My first (and probably only) sniper

800 meters  100 yds. I need work on my breathing and such. The steadier I try to get the more I notice my heartbeat moving me all over the place  Moreso with a scope than irons, but it's still noticeable. I'm going to try to go shooting with this benchrest shooter from up here sometime....

Re: My first (and probably only) sniper

That's a tricky scope to get used to, balancing the target on top of the post. You would think the post would at least have a point on it. And it took me FOUR enbloc clips to get where I was happy... sheesh. It usually doesn't take me so long to get dialed in, but after I was shooting pretty much wh...

Re: A few pics of a recent purchase

I got my FAL back yesterday. The seller re-timed the barrel and for my trouble sent me back a couple 20 rnd magazines and mag pouch  I sighted it in this afternoon. Seven shots to get where I was happy, then I moved onto a fresh target. I think if I really took my time and controlled my br...

Re: Are all Fin M28s trashed?

I know how you feel, zee. I was in front of two K43's and the one with the matching bolt was in a sanded and poly'ed stock. Such a shame.

Fin, does the Citristrip touch the finish of the wood at all?

Re: Are all Fin M28s trashed?

I've got an M28 that has a bit of a shine to it, not bad though. I'm not sure if it's been refinished or not. I'll probably just let it alone. No sense stripping it and refinishing it without being sure. And not sure I would want to anyway. It goes against my "leave it like you bought it unless...
