Re: M1 Garand Main Spring

I've had difficulty with this as well. I'm missing the top halves of my index and middle fingers. After field stripping, I grease that follower and spring pretty liberally. Top marks to using pliers to reset that thing. Only thing I'd add is I choose my slotted channel lock pliers so it grabs the fo...

Re: Lee Enfield and I need help!

That ejector spring is not a hard piece to replace. I had a weak one on my first Enfield (compressed to the point where it just fell out). It's a common problem. Go to Numrich, get a replacement and install it. I managed to do it the first time with a small screwdriver. There is a nipple on one side...

Nice work!!! Very cool. Hope she shoots as good as she looks! Now you just need to find the sling, bayonet and other accoutrement. I just love shooting three-oh-three.

Re: SMLE nose cap help

The nosecap you have is for an Indian Enfield 2a or 2a1. Your rifle should wear a nosecap with the rounded ears. I'd be happy to. It'd be a closer placeholder cosmetically, and he could have one that'd work for his. I've got a handful of unissued cross screws and I'd throw one in too. Numrich didn'...

Re: SMLE nose cap help

I'm in the process of restoring an Ishapore 1940 No 1 MkIII. I am going through the same issue and would like to keep the gun as close to Ishapore standard as I can. I just got most of my parts and the nose cap I got is a rounded type which is probably more appropriate for a British or Australian m...

SMLE nose cap help

Hi all, looking for any advice from a No.1 Mk III expert. I purchased a sporterized LE last year with the idea of trying to put it back into original configuration. I want to make it as period correct as I can. For now, I am omitting the long range volley sight and I'm not going to install a unit di...

Re: Fun at the range with the Enfields

Good luck getting it back to order! I found Springfield sporters to be very helpful in locating new furniture. Numrich and EBay for the little parts. My No1 Mk III looked a lot like yours when I got it. Now it looks like this ImageUploadedByTapatalk1429916269.487344.jpg Shoots low so but tight. Fidd...
