Re: Arisaka?
Just got a call from a buddy of mine in Fla who has an Arisaka his dad bought in brooklyn between 1955 and 1960. There are no import marks on it and the serial number is 2363. It has the emperor mark on it but I have not been able to get a good look at it to tell if there are any other marks on it. ...

Re: Weldon's update
Now there are some very nice guns...good job on them and on the pics too. I never realized there were so many marks on these guns that mean something. Can't wait to get a few more of them and have a little fun. Going for a sniper rifle next, going to try and find one in a crate of regular ones first...

Re: How to measure a MOA at the front or rear sight (sticky)
Well thank you sir, I used some of the advise above along with a little "kentucky windage" lol and the rear sight did not move at all so I guess flipping it over got it to lock into place. Now I have to find a longer range WOO HOO!

Re: How to measure a MOA at the front or rear sight (sticky)
Just back from the range and what a great day, cool temps @ about 68 degrees light wind from the north (headwind) @ 3-4 mph. Got the sight tool out and according to my estamates 1 full turn on the sight tool give you 1" of movement. I had to go 1.5 turns and this is what I got...

I have a CVA .50 cal Hawkins rifle I bought a few years back and have just began shooting it recently. I have been using Pyrodex RS in it and have had multiple mis-fires. I do not remember ever having as many in my other muzzleloader which was a new model .50 cal. Does anyone know if changing to FF ...

Re: M44 & M91/30 package deal both for $219
It is just MHO but I think that any and all of those involved with that scandal should be charged as felons, convicted, lose their right to keep and bear arms and sit in prison for a LOOOONG time with a few exceptions....Holder, Napalitano, Clinton and Obama should be tried for treason. That's what ...

Re: Rear sight movement
Think I figured it out...removed the rear sight bar and dis assembled the sring loaded slide, after streatching the springs a little I took a look at the notches on the bottom of the slide and compared them to the locks and it appears that the locking portion of the slide was assembled upside down. ...

Re: Rear sight movement
The sight is in the notch but I guess consdiering this thing is a shoulder fired cannon I should expect it to move. Hummm duct tape, you may be on to something. I was trying to find out if there is a way of tighting the spring inside the rear sight, if not I will just recheck after every shot...back...

Rear sight movement
I have my front post dialed in (close enough for a 3 shot group @ 1.5" in the head of a silloette target @ 100 yrds) only problem I m having is the rear sight "creeps" up due to the recoil. Is there any way to tighten the rear sight so it will not move unless I want it to do so?
