Finally took her out to the range! At 50 yds I got one inch groups. They spread out a little at 100 yds, about 3 inches at best. I'm blaming the low scope magnification... Over all, I'm very pleased with the accuracy!

Haha, yours takes the prize. Mine has a barrel date stamp. Incidentally, this rifle is the nicest shooting one of my 4 91/30s.

Thanks for the info. I had read of course that the arsenals cut corners (or did not for that matter...) later on in the war to speed up production. I saw on another site that "at least one" 42 Izhevsk was documented without tang markings. That made it sound pretty unusual. However it makes...
