Re: What should my next rifle be?
They're too few and far between, Im afraid. The only place I might be able to get one would be Gunbroker, but the amount of price gouging on there drives me away.

Re: What should my next rifle be?
I really don't think I want another Mosin. They're fun to shoot, but I'm not really impressed by the accuracy. It hits the targey, but it tends to be all over the target at 100 yards and beyond.

What should my next rifle be?
After much thought and consideration, I have narrowed down the list of rifles I might buy to a Yugo M59/66A1 (one of the excellent condition ones from Samco), a Ruger Mini-14 (one of the later model ones [582 serial number), and a Yugoslavian M24/47 (one of the special select quality ones with a str...

Re: Wanting To Start Reloading for the Mosin
Yeah, I am going to reload the 7.5. The K-31 is the more precise rifle anyway. Can someone give me a list of what I need/where to buy? I know I need brass but not where to get it. A gun shop near me has some privy partizan and Hornady soft points, but I'm not sure how much they are. I would apprecia...

Re: Wanting To Start Reloading for the Mosin
The thing is they're not commonly available around here. And the ones that are are either $1.00/ a round or more or the occasional pack of surplus. I don't know, I might not reload for it, maybe I'll reload for the K-31.

Re: M24/47 Yugo Mauser from Samco
That is an option. If possible I'd like to have one numbers matching. My Mosin-Nagant and K-31 both have numbers matching. I think ammo-wise, I'll just start hand loading for it, either that or buy commercial stuff until I start hand loading for it. Thanks for the info.

Re: Wanting To Start Reloading for the Mosin
My rifle doesn't shoot heavier loads well at all, I'm going to be sticking with .311 bullets, probably. Would 25 more cases be enough? A guy on another forum has 25 for $.50 each, and I was thinking of buying them. Can anyone recommend a second powder to try out? What's a good reloading manual? My d...

Wanting To Start Reloading for the Mosin
I have about ten brass cases freed up and fire formed to my rifles chambers, with 10 more waiting until deer season. I did a rough trimming (didn't know how much to trim them and had no way of measuring) but I did chamfer and deburr them and I ran them through my dad's tumbler (they look so shiny!) ...

Re: M24/47 Yugo Mauser from Samco
Hmm...that ammo does seem tempting. Would cleaning be the same as with a Mosin, since it's corrosive? I might just buy a rifle and 400 rounds of ammo for that price. Would be good plinking am until I start reloading. Are these generally pretty accurate rifles? I'd like at least 4" groups at 100...

M24/47 Yugo Mauser from Samco
I was looking at the Samco Site and saw they had straight-bolt M24/47's for $249.99 which seems like a pretty good price for "Special Select Condition" and providing I get the accessories. Has anyone ordered one of these from them? I don't yet have a Mauser in my collection and would like ...

http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c321/hedshot56/20140716_172426_zpscigiekbq.jpg Welp, here's the finished product. Got most if not all the outer stuff off and what I could from the inside. I might pour some gas or diesel fuel in the compartments just to make sure I get all of it out in case I have...

Re: Mosin Two Sided Oil Cans
Would removing the cosmoline off of one decrease the value? I'd like to have one to present with my rifle.

Re: Mosin Nagant Corrosive Cleaning Question
So doing a complete separation of the action from the stock after I shoot corrosive ammo , then getting a pot of boiling water, pouring it down the bore, then scrubbing some of the parts of the bolt with hot water, drying, lubricating, and reassembling the bolt, then putting my gun in the vise, runn...

Sorry for making the thread. I just didn't want anything to happen to my rifle. I'll ask a mod to delete it if you want.

Re: Mosin Nagant Corrosive Cleaning Question
Wouldn't removing the action from the stock affect the way the gun shoots? Like, loosening the screws and stuff?

I'm just not really wanting to boil water every time I shoot and run the risk of getting scalded.

Mosin Nagant Corrosive Cleaning Question
I'm not sure if using Hopppe's 9 will work on my Mosin to remove all the salts, as I've been using shooters choice on a .357 brush followed by several patches, so I'm thinking of getting a funnel and pouring hot water (not boiling) down the bore and drying the bore with patches, but I'm afraid to be...

Mosin Two Sided Oil Cans
I bought 5 oil cans off ebay still in cosmoline. They're the 2-sided Soviet circular ones for oil and alkaline solvent. I got them for a total of $25. Do you think the prices on these will go up anytime soon? I really only need one, and I'm ordering a separate kit that comes with a Soviet Single com...
