Re: 4 "New" Molots in Maine now.

Thanks Dog. I meant to say, it sounded like my brother was describing what appeared to be receiver walls that had been ground low (or some such). These are our first Mosinkas so we're total noobs with em. Hopefully he'll have time tomorrow to get on the cam and we'll see what's what then.

4 "New" Molots in Maine now.

They arrived at the FFL on Monday, but my brother couldn't get to him before Fri due to work schedule. I called him just as he was about to begin opening the boxes so we went over them together, more or less. 1 1942 2 1943s 1 1944 -All round receivers and in good shape. -All straight bolts. -A few m...

Re: 7.62x39 alternate formats

A rough ballistic comparison is the .30-30 Win, while they are pretty close, they are not equal, the x39 is a little slower. The x39 round is not known as a hair splitting accuracy round. It was designed for somewhat intermediate range use and be minute of man. As for better sights on an SKS, Tech-...

Re: Surplus "Brass" question

there is a youtube video of someone bushing a berdan primer pocket with a peice of copper tubing and resized to use boxer primers.. The guy makes it look easy but when you take into account the time it takes him to make the bushings and install them, it's totally not worth it... A box of PPU's is l...

Very cool, Thanks! :udaman:

So the "safety" is actually a striker/bolt lock to keep the bolt from falling out in the pucker brush. Very interesting, that.

Re: Shot my Mosin for the first time :D

I shot my m38 for the first time yesterday. It was a blast to shoot! The fireballs and power was impressive. I found the recoil to be very manageable. I read some people think it kicks like a mule, only the girl that was with us thought it hurt :P. I am very pleased with my purchase and a few of my...

Re: 1944 Tula Ex-Sniper. $139 Should I buy?

Okay, don't cut my head off but being new I need to know what to look for on a x sniper rifle. Standard 91/30's her now cost $170 +... At $139 I'd take a plain Jane Mossin and maybe more. Head on over to Classicfirearms.com then. They have grade excellent M91/30s for the everyday low price of $139....

Re: Just ordered a case/880 from SG Ammo

These posts get me all fired up to go out and get some more. Then, I go down to the cave and see what I have and think, how will I ever shoot 9000+ rounds. Just a matter of time though... Can one actually have too much ammo? Nah, get more. Think of the bartering you can do with the excess.

I've seen a few posts here and there from folks worried about roughing up their reloading tools on steel. This vid is pretty interesting.

Re: New Members, Make your first post here!

Greetings my fellow Capitalist Americans! :D I recently stumbled over a youtube vid about these historic Mosinkas (M91/30) and have been gobbling up all I can find at The Tube. What a great rifle for $100! The more I looked into them, the more I liked them and as soon as my local FFL dealer is loade...
