Re: Question for California members

If 01FFL, they generally will not accept from a private party If this is the case, get your buyer to find a 01 FFL that isn't a tool. It also isn't just CA FFLs that are morons, I sold a K98 to a buddy in Texas, the 01FFL he wanted to use refused to accept shipment from me, an 03 FFL. He insisted t...

Re: Question for California members

Extra nonsense when shipping to 01 FFLs only applies if you are also an 01 FFL: http://oag.ca.gov/firearms/cflcoverview If you are unlicensed or a 03 FFL and shipping to an 01 FFL, contact them, some are assclowns and will refuse delivery unless it comes from another 01. There is nothing illegal abo...

Re: Question for California members

So, I'm covered selling C&R's to CA? When you explain the law change last year you are implying that you need COE for mail order and internet purchases but then you say an 03 without COE can only do transfers out of state? Sorry, my bad, but I'm still confused. What Dolk said. The "03 with...

Re: Molot's The Future of Mosin-Nagants?

Appears to have all matching S/Nos. w/o strike overs w/ the exception of one no. on the barrel. The Triangle/Circle "T" of the right side of the action (Under "Made in Russia") is the current mark of Tula. http://www.tulatoz.ru/en/ Looks like they are processing rifles for expor...

Re: 200 yard range day

I like that picture!! It looks like the forum cropped it, maybe it is too big, there is an empty in the air. I got really lucky, the guy I handed my camera to when I was shooting turned out to be an excellent photographer. I resized it and uploaded it again: http://shedracing.net/imgmisc/chabot/30j...

Re: 200 yard range day

I should check out Chabot some day. It's only a little farther than Field Sports park. The range with the long range matches is in Sacramento. My only problem with these matches is the thought that all the competition are marksmen. lol I'm not. But then again, way back when I was a young lad and fa...

Re: 200 yard range day

What range is that? I lived in the Bay area for about 20 years, and it doesn't look familiar at all.

On Edit: Looks like Chabot has their military bolt gun match this weekend:

You are shooting paper, so they don't care about ammo type.

Re: 500 yds with an M91

My niece's b/f won't take his gun out unless he has at least 200 yards to play with. I think it is a .308? I know the rounds are real pricey for him. New baby, not a lot of work, that kind of thing. I might have to make that trip to Sac. I have family in that area too. Besides the step son even. I ...

Re: 1936 Izhevsk M91/30 "B"

My guess would be the year it was proofed, 2013.

I have 2 Mosins that were processed by Molot, a 91/30 PU I purchased in 2012, and a M38 I got in early 2013, both are marked "12"

Sure would be nice if there was some consistency in the proof markings. This is probably the 4th variation of location and format I have seen.

I went to Navy Boot camp in Orlando FL in 1986, and we drilled with fiberglass-stocked 1903s. If I remember correctly, they guys who were on the drill team used M1s.

Re: Steel Targets?

Terrific info guys thank you. Emcon, awesome posts, pics, and work. I plan to join a club which has a 300 yard rifle range. I'll save this steel target idea once I get out there. Thanks again. Will drag this thread up from the depths when the time comes. Happy I didn't try this before asking. One q...

PU scope, elevation adjustments in MOA

Back in 2011 Shotgun news had an article on PU scopes, because Numrich Gun Parts had a bunch to sell. Included in that article was a chart showing the adjustment in MOA for each number on the elevation turret. I kept it, and put it in a safe place, but I have moved twice since then, and have no idea...

A Google search finds the auction you are talking about, it is a Finn m39, with a barrel date of 1967, built on a 1915 Izhevsk action. http://www.gunauction.com/buy/12594638/guns-for-sale-curios-relics/curios-relics-rifles/mosin-nagant-finn-m39-7.62x54r-1967-sneak-c-and-r-rifle-not-m91-30 No idea wh...

Re: Steel Targets?

I shoot steel, got the last one from here: http://www.ar500-targets.com/default.asp You can minimize the risk of ricochets by mounting so it it will move when hit and dissipate some of the energy, also to mount them from the back, so they angle slightly down, to direct the splash down to the dirt. Re: I don't even remember bidding ?!?!?!?

Non refurbished? Isn't that a post war stock? It is, these rifles were used by the Red Army during WW2, they were sent to the same refurbishing facility as all your red shellac refurbs, they were then sent as aid to various buffer states to arm their pro commie armys. decades of use by the buffer s...

Re: Classic grade Bs

Just curious, pre-war, wartime or post-war stocks?

Maybe it is just me, but It seems like there are more pre- and wartime stocks on the latest batch of Molot processed rifles. Cabela's had ~20 rifles in the rack, all round receivers, and over half had wartime or pre-war stocks.
