Re: New Members, Make your first post here!

You beat me to it. After searching around this forum this morning and watching a few youtube video's and of course they are yours, I concluded not to do anything but maintain them. Thanks again JYD. It's still a good father son project since you'll probably need to tear it down to get all the cosmo...

Re: Ammo question

If you get tired of being awash in stripper clips, I'd take a some off your hands. I'm thinking of buying some for display and historical valve. But online you run the risk of fakes and I'm not interested in the cheap knockoffs.

Re: Ammo question

They had a picture in the link I provided that looks very close to the can on the right. So it seems to be 250 round tins of Bulgarian Surplus on stripper clips.

Re: Question on early Russian SKS

I asked about one here in Omaha once. They wanted $575 for it. It was a really nice looking matching numbers early 50s Tula. It was Russian, but for my purposes I'd buy an older Norinco like I've seen on sale for $270-300 first. I did a quick search nationwide on armslist and that seems to be the go...

Eating the spam is like eating at Mcdonalds,a half hour later, your making your way to the restroom. I think it keeps JYD regular. I haven't had MacDonald's in months, they tore down ours, and are rebuilding it at a snails pace. I opened that building in 1973, third customer in line after the ...

Re: Russian 70s Surplus 7.62x54R Rusty Tins $75+SH/440rds

That was a decent price and went fast. But with shipping it wasn't as good of a deal as it first seemed. I got a clean case from Dan's Ammo for 185 with lower shipping. So the difference wasn't significant.

Re: Surplus 7.62x54r ammo

I think I'd trade the ammo price for a couple of Canadian priced SVTs and SKSs. :D PSA cancelled my 7.62x54r order, so I picked up some from Dan's Ammo. Then the next week a local guy was selling all of his crates, so I picked up some for below market price. I went from bare cupboards to stocked in ...

Re: What's the current value of non-refurb 91/30 bayonets?

At Cabela's the other day they had a bucket full of 91/30 bayonets for 5 bucks each. Some were black, some were grayish, a few had surface rust. How would you know a refurb from a non refurb? Being matched to the rifle might be more desirable, unless the bayonet has some rare feature or mark. After...

I'd pick up the first one at least. The painting should come off with some patience. It might even be a decal and come off easier.

Re: Interesting thoughts on .22lr

I think it's getting toward the end. I see more available and the prices going down. I've seen more on-line locally for not horribly outrageous prices. I think some of the smart buyers are offloading some of their stash now that supply is catching up. I normally see someone posting 1500-3000 rounds ...

Re: 7.62x54r Case

Grrr. They did the same to me. There must have been a big run that wiped them out. It went from Bulgarian to Ukranian to Damaged to sorry/refund. I was wanting to try the Bulgarian and the free shipping made it attractive. Maybe they'll honor that if they get a supply in. Doubt it.

Re: Russia Halts Soviet Ammo Exports

I get the feeling there are a large number of people who think they are prepared for SHTF so it wouldn't be a big deal. Loads of supplies, arms, ammo, bunkers, generators, etc. But really, if it lasts more than a week or two and/or you need to move, you're probably screwed in an honest to goodness S...

My parents have a tracfone prepaid wireless because they don't use the cell much. It's just a phone and nothing else. Before that, I would give them my old work phones every couple years after they would give me a new one. They kept it and a charger in the car. You can use any old cell phone, plan o...

You sure it wasn't a German back there returning fire?

Hope you're feeling better and don't set off any metal detectors at the airport from something you missed.
