No real damage to collectors value if I clean it? Just keep cleaning it?Junk Yard Dog wrote:A matter of personal taste, some people like a patina on the brass, others like it to shine. However if it has a shine put on it then the shine must be maintained......endlessly as brass tarnishes quickly.

40mm Bofors shell,
So I picked up a 40mm Bofors brass shell over the weekend and it is dirty and has some minor corrosion. I was wondering if there would be any harm done to its value if I cleaned it up? All thoughts and opinions welcome!

The m95 isn't my "thing" but I believe the Austrian is of the less common variety, or is it the Hungarian? Well like I said the M95 isn't my thing and I hope more knowledgable people on the subject come and help you out.

I tell you what,.... .......if that rifle has 'modern optics' I'll bet a marksman can still whack some ass out past 600+. 7.62x54 147 grn steel core round headed downstream at 2700 fps and you got yourself an 'evil-dooer' eliminator. This is a SEARIOUS round in the right hands, just ask...

And if I can make an inference, the way the title says" no coating" sounds like you know you have sticky bolt and are trying to get away from the laquer on the steel cases?

Re: 303 British head stamps

I would treat that ammo as corrosive ...

Some of it has case shoulders too far forward so some wont chamber. They also have lube dents in the cases and when I firs shot my m91/30 on the third rou...
