All in all I'm pretty pleased with my Mosin. My time on the range today went well. the Mosin was dead on, in elevation. The windage being 6 inches right is easily correctable. Rather than going after it with a hammer and punch, I will just wait for the sight tool. Having not done a lot of open sight...

Heading out to shoot my 1925 Mosin Dragoon later this morning. In studying the 7.62x54r.net web sight, and the pages pertaining to sights. I have come to the realization, that there is no hard and fast rule to the variations, and markings of these rifles. I wanted to study up a bit on the sights, so...

In 2 weeks, I've bought a matching number 1944 Model 91/44 Mosin that totally infected me with Mosin Love, and a really nice 1939 91/38 with no matching numbers, but shoots dead on at 100 yards...I guess you...

Looks like and nearly marked the same as the 1925 I picked up at a garage sale this weekend. Only notable difference I see is sling attachment. Oh, and I don't have the sling.

When I disassembled and cleaned, I found what appear to be brass shims on the stock between it and the barrel receiver. was this done for accuracy purposes by the finns?
