Re: M91 Westinghouse aka Forget whatever I said
Leave the band's as they are. Those parts belong with that rifle, don't separate them. The stock catouche indicates the stock is from a Tula rifle. Westinghouse had the cartilage on the left and says 'English Contract'. Really great Civil Guard rifle. Made in the Meriden, CT plant. Sent from my KFT...

Re: M91 Westinghouse aka Forget whatever I said
If the rifle functions with the loose barrel band then it is fine the way it is. The finns used a screw infront of the bands so they could stay loose and improve accuracy. So if it is not bothereing you then I would leave it loose. Maybe loosen the front one a tad too if it wont come off. It has th...

Re: Just got my first Tokarev
You can't beat a TT for fun shooting. I may be the only person in the States that uses one as a daily carry gun. It drives the Glock Brothers nuts when I use it in SWAT exercises with some team leaders I shoot with. Wolf makes some hollow points, DO NOT try and use Hornady HP as they will not feed....

Speaking of which, I didn't think $1990 was too bad for an unfired M39, with a 'B' barrel

Re: Mosin nagants are "assault rifles"????
Well one of the more famous recent cases was the 220 illegal Glocks shipped in through a dodgy employee in a suburban Sydney Post Office lol But usually they would come in through unchecked shipping containers, as only about 1 in 20 are checked by Customs (which has its own corruption problems :brol...

Re: M91 Westinghouse aka Forget whatever I said
I believe the direct quote we should be ignoring is: Hey guys. Been pretty sick the last few days so haven't frequented the forum. However not too sick to drag myself down to the gunshop in order to pick up my LAST Mosin! Very likely last firearm in total also, hence the (relatively) breakneck spee...

Re: Mosin nagants are "assault rifles"????
Yeah, our media does that too, with possibly even more stupidity in a country where the "Evil Black Rifle"ᵀᴹ cannot even be owned  Have to lol when there's a report of a "huge haul of illegal firearms, which could have added fuel to the fire of Sydney's gang war!" and ...

Re: M91 Westinghouse aka Forget whatever I said
Love the civil guard too. Has a lot going for it   Yeah, I was wondering when waiting for it to turn up whether it would have Finnish connections lol The Civil Guard element is a bonus :) Also according to 7.62x54r.net , Westinghouse stock cartouches with dates aren't particular...

OH HELL YA. What a killer steal if it was less then the others. It is a finnish AMERICAN (russian). Looks like it Is in its original stock and way nice bluing. Way to go, you will love the way these shoot. You can order the barrel bands if you can find them. They are around sometimes. Nice one :Dro...

Re: M91 Westinghouse aka Forget whatever I said
OK, now diagnostics: aka the 'don't blame me it was like that when I got here' barrel-band issue In this pic the handguard can be seen 'bowing' out slightly to the left, I'm not sure if it is due to the fact that someone stripped the rear band threads (obvoiously meaning the rear band can be moved a...

M91 Westinghouse aka Forget whatever I said
Hey guys  Back (seemingly) from the dead, I've been under the scourge of (several) Winter viruses in the past couple of months, and only just got out from under the latest one. Good to be at least semi back on deck here. I have a minor confession however... Did I ever breathe the words 'las...

I'm very sorry to hear of the loss of your father websterz, my sincere condolences to you and your family. It must be a source of pride to you that your Dad showed such a selfless concern for others by agreeing to be an organ donor. Take care mate.
