Re: Need Advice
By the sound of things it is a Finn marked (the SA stamp) M1891 rifle, $300 is in the normal range for these as I said. Now the other rifle is also SA marked ( 34 Tula 91/30)? $150 is not out of line for a Finn marked Soviet rifle. The M1891 they probably captured when Finland split from Russia in ...

Re: Need Advice
OK, so I went back on Sunday and looked this rifle over again. It looks very much like this rifle from the forum's info page; Pekhotniya vintovka obr. 1891g. (Model 1891 Three-Line Rifle) I also noticed that it had an SA stamp on the receiver. So it's apparently not a Dragoon, but I'm still interest...

Re: Need Advice
If that was indeed a Dragoon for $300 that was a steal unless it was a major pile. Things to consider are; Is it still in the Dragoon stock? Is it Finn? or is it in a 91/30 stock? Can you go back & get it????? Check out the mainpage to do a little research for next time. You gotta jump on those...

Re: Need Advice
I would probably buy the 1896 at that price if it wasn't too bad. Try for a cheaper deal but if he is giving ammo i think you will be fine at that price. A non import or refurbed 91/30 is easily worth the asking price. Are they from the same guy? I would try for a package deal like $350 and then yo...

Need Advice
Hi All, I just came back from a local gun show and there was a fair collection of M91/30's. I just missed out on a '41 Finn capture with the SA mark for $160. But the most interesting find was an 1896 Dragoon with a hex receiver. The gun seemed to be in fairly good condition for it's age. The dealer...

Do you have a web site I could view? Unfortunately, I don't have a C&R. :sad:mogunner wrote:Looks like one of Omega's. If Don still has any you can get them for like $90 shipped to your door if you have a C&R.

Would $75 be a fair offer? I don't want to insult the seller.Rongoman wrote:Without a bayo I would pass.
Unless he would take a LOT less.

Re: 1st shots
Sounds like you had fun! I too am anxious to get out and shoot with some distance. Right now I am forced indoors with 25 yards max. I shot just to shoot and got the sights adjusted so its at least close. But once the outdoor range opens back up, I will be first in line at the gate :) OK, so shootin...

1st shots
I fianlly got to shoot my '39 Izhevsk yesterday. I started out with the 46gr training ammo, and after 12 rounds moved right to the 174gr FMJ's. What a fun rifle to shoot. It's been years since I used open sights, so the target was only at 50 yds. The wind was howlin' like a banshee from left to righ...

Re: 762X54R in a 46 grain
I got 108 rounds of this ammo for Xmas, and I got to shoot some of it yesterday. It works just fine in the 91/30 and it was the first ammo I put through mu "new" gun. It worked just fine, so I have no complaints. I would buy this again. ![popgun :popgun:](./images/smilies/popgun.gif)

Merry Christmas and a soon to be Happy New Year to all on this forum. I finally got to spend some time with the M91/30 that my lovely wife got me for Chrsitmas. I broke it down yesterday and cleaned her up so I can go shooting this Wednesday. In the process, I tried to photograph every mark on could...

Re: Big 5 Sporting Goods
MN Fan,
They are not one of the bigger sporting goods stores, but they always seem to get M91/30's and the occasional M44. I bought a '39 Izhevsk from them in September that was very nice!![Very Happy :D](./images/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif)
