Re: Carbines Where are they???

M-44's and 38's are starting to get scarce up here in Canada too. The minty Polish M-44's are going for $400-$500 now. Good condition Russian ones will get $250 all day long.

Re: Egyptian Contract SKS

Interesting piece. I have a few Chinese factory 625 and 306 sks's and thought it would be cool to drop a Chinese sks into a russian laminate stock I had laying around. The russian stock was about an 1/8 of an inch too short to fit into the stock retainer(holder) under the barrel of the chinese gun. ...

Re: C&R License

I'm a little unclear on C&R's and FFL's. Are these required for only out of state transactions, or does it apply to all used firearm purchases?

Ok, that does it. Now I want that damn blanket you're displaying your rifles on. How much for the blanket? Nice rifles too by the way.

I can see remnants of a previous finish under and near the barrel band.

You can't go wrong with a Remington 870. I have a 1952 Wingmaster that I've been shooting trap with for 20 years. Never had a malfunction.

Re: Hand Guard lighter color?

It kind of reminds me of some of the older women I saw on the beach during a recent trip to Florida. Nice light blonde on top, dark and gnarly underneath.

Re: Russian capture Finn weapons ???

I have a Remington M-91 that has German marks on it and Finn marks which would indicate that it was German capture and then given to the Finns. It also has a post 1928 Izhevsk mark on the rear sight leaf that makes me think it might have been recaptured by the Russians. If it was a 91/30 I could see...

Is there a place in this collection for a Finn capture Remington or Westinghouse or do they fall into a different category ?

A win against Sunderland will make it a perfect week for you. I'd rather see the Gunners finish 7th or 8th and not have to play in the league of shame (uefa)
Oh right, pictures please of the 1920.
Is it just me, or are there some ridiculously good deals being had down there lately?

Re: Went to go pick up my Mosin today, left with two guns

You really did well on these two just on appearances. The Yugo is a beauty. We don't see many like that up here in Canada.
The 91/30 is interesting too. I see an Izhevsk mark on the barrel band but I don't see a refurb stamp on the barrel. More photos please.

That is awesome. I'm going to Orlando for a few days in 2 weeks and was actually contemplating bringing a dismantled bolt with me on the plane. Homeland security would probably frown on that idea.

Re: M38 and M44

Why? what's wrong with baking gun parts in the oven? I do it all the time :) People mock me on SKS boards when I tell them to put new Chinese stocks in the oven. I put them in at 170 degrees and it takes about 2 hours to sweat out the cosmo. I come back every 15 minutes and wipe them with paper tow...

Re: 4 seasons of Mosin

Thanks guys. The top one is a '42 Izhevsk re-furb, Next is a '53 Polish that had only a few rounds though it when I got it. The third is a '46 Izhevsk non-refurb with a wonderful natural stock. Finally the last is a '44 Izhevsk M-38 that has no refurb marks but does have the reddish shellac stock wh...

4 seasons of Mosin

Nothing special here. I had some nice natural light in the kitchen today and just happened to be cleaning carbines. The light really brought out the color of the stocks.
