Re: First 10 shot test run with my lammie Tula!!

That's a nice group but did you have to spell out the letter "T" for Tula with the holes. Show-off :D

My first M-91

I recently purchased my first Remington M-91. It has a nice bore and is relatively good condition. There are a few things about it that don't seem quite right though. The bolt and the top marks match but the mag floor plate doesn't. The stock has sling inserts but they have Izhevsk bow and arrow mar...

Re: New members!!

I had to "straighten up and fly right" when I came on this forum. I still have to fight the urge to re-finish a '42 Ishevsk now and then. That's what SKS's are for. I have one for every Mosin I own. Really.

Re: M-44 day at the range

I usually stop near 82 and 12 and make sure my ducks are all in a row before I cross the scale in Umatilla. Those Oregon DOT boys love us. In a bad way. I'll Pm you if I get a trip that way.

Re: Casing Bulge

I got my Okie gauges yesterday and took Mosin carbines to the range today. A bulge at the base says excessive headspace to me. Have you measured the cases and compared to an unfired case? Here's what the gauges look like.

That raised the hair on the back of my neck. Beautiful picture. I think I need a moment like that to reconnect myself to what's important in life.

I'm in Eastern Wash. quite often. I'll PM you next time I'm down. I'll buy you a coffee. I just about got sent from Seattle to Yakima yesterday. They were predicting up to 2 feet of snow on Snoqualmie pass last night. I was glad that plan fell apart.

Very nice. You do realize that posts like this are driving up the prices of Mosins as we speak.

Re: M-44 day at the range

Nice shooting Chumlee. I thought you guys upo there could shoot at real moose instead of pictures of them. 8-) 8-) Nah, I'm near Vancouver and have to go to a range. I have to admit it was fun answering questions about what was throwing fireballs downrange in broad daylight. I'm a trucker and dodge...

M-44 day at the range

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I got the chance to take the M-44 carbines to the range today. I took a 1944 Izhevsk and a 1953 Polish M-44. I started with The Russian and had to make a few adjustments. It started out low and right which was a surpris...

I better look into this. I rarely make a post without adding a picture. I belong to a Canadian gun forum that enables me to post my pics as thumbnails. I'll get my teenagers on it right away.

Does it have an importer mark on it. I couldn't tell in the pictures. If it never left the country it would sure be cool.

Re: sight tool

I've been using the Elby sight pusher lately and it works great. I was having trouble getting one stock sight out of the dovetail and I got it started with a brass punch. I didn't want risk damaging the tool. The sight pusher is great for quick adjustments on the bench. I'm pretty sure everyone know...

Re: Siberian winter

It's pouring rain out here on the left coast. I'm debating heading to the range to fire-form some brass for the M-44's. Problem is I'm hung-over and can't imagine being beside an M-44 for very long. Damn vodka.
