This things aren't built to tight tolerances. So aftermarket stuff probably doesn't fit right

I am by no means an expert, but of the few mosins i own only one had problems feeding rounds. A good cleaning did the trick !. I think the ancient grease had gummed stuff up. Personally, i used a ultrasonic cleaner with hot water and that melted most of the cosmoline off ( on the metal pieces... not...

This looked a bit odd to me. It's a notch cut out of the stock but i cant see why. I dont think my other mosin has this. Also, there are two notches on the under side- they look like they are to make room for the hinge of the magazine.

The thingy on the bottom... I think you are talking about the magazine floor plate? It's ok if that is loose. Many are. It's the springs inside/attached to it that could be weak, but unlikely.
