Laser bore sight... Worth it?
Just curious if they are worth it. Looks like one can be had for about $20.
My issue is with distance, I can't see where I can find some place dark and long enough to get an accurate read.
Thanks

Re: 2 Sniper at cabelas in fort worth
Zed, welcome to the forum. Have you found anything good at the Cabelas in Allen? It must be what? 10 minutes North of you? I was in there one day nd the rack had a dozen 91/30's and ever since that day I have not found any again. I havent seen any in awhile. I think i saw one about a month ago. I'm...

Re: 2 Sniper at cabelas in fort worth
I'm in plano. I am now quite disappointed cabelas sells replicas without stating so. I have to admit, my 1 minute inspection had me fooled.
Good thing I am broke![smile :)](./images/smilies/smile.gif)

Re: 2 Sniper at cabelas in fort worth
As in reproduction? Would they do that?
I'm just posting so anyone who might be interested could look into them.
Out of my price range :(. They looked real to me, but I am definately a newbie to this

Or is it pretty much general househol...

Re: Shooting the Mosin for the first time
Got the Okie already
, and the limbsaver. I'll probably shoot it a few times without it, and then try it. It's a slip on , so no modification to the rifle
.
Looks like I am going to have to wait untill next week to shoot.

Re: What was the Russian Plan?
By this "It just seems to me that making one of these useable is a bit beyond the average ( communist) soldier of the time." I meant, if i walked out onto the street and handed a cosmoline covered rifle to someone ( not a good idea really ), and told them, you need to clean this now so you...

The crack of the rifle world...
Ok, I got a mosin a week ago.
Now I want more....
I love the different markings, the history etc...
Maybe this is a communist plot to overthrow America :p
Anyway, I am glad a came across a group that likes to preserve the past...
P.s. I also watched Enemy at the Gates tonight....

Re: What was the Russian Plan?
Is that the thinking of 1940's Russia or more recent Russia?
It just seems to me that making one of these useable is a bit beyond the average ( communist) soldier of the time.

What was the Russian Plan?
So they produce these rifles and then store them. Once out of storage it takes some effort to make them ready to use....
What was the Russian plan if they had to use them? It seems it takes at least a little skill, and a decent amount of time to make one useable.

I did the headspace test with the Okie headspace gauges and it passed without a problem
.
I'll be checking the firing pin when i start taking it apart tomorrow to clean it
