I'm in Texas. Heck, it's probably legal to grab it by the sling and take a stroll ![smile :)](./images/smilies/smile.gif)

Bayonett and the gun range
I usually shoot on private land so this hasn’t been an issue. But when you go to a gun range with your SKS, do you remove the bayonet? I certainly won’t be walking around with it in the open position....but is folded closed ok? Is it generally just up to whatever the gun range prefers? When I picked...

Re: What did I find?
I doubt it's part of the gun. i know mine had no fabric in the inner workings of the gun.
There was some camo fabric shoved in the buttstock.
Got some pics?

Seems to be pretty accurate, had some fun shooting at impromptu targets ( soda bottles ). I think i enhjoy shooting this more than the mosin... *Gasp*. I pla...

Is this normal?
So, i have the SKS unloaded, and the bolt and bolt carrier move forward, there is some resistance about 1/4 to 1/2 inch before it closes. If i ease the bolt to this point, it wont close completely. If i let the spring do its thing, it closes the whole way. Looking at how this thing works, it's catch...

Re: My Chinese SKS
I jut got done cleaning the SKS a little while ago.
Completely caked in cosmoline.... no surprise there.
There was some sand/ grit in the rifle that took awhile to get out.

Re: To the bubbas lurking on this site....
I'll admit that when I first entertained getting a Mosin that I had visions of making it all nice and purdy and that my vision of purdy was to refurbish it. Once I started shopping around for one I quickly lost all notions of that nonsense as to actually hold one is to hold a piece of history. It t...

I shot some mil surp ammo, then rinsed out with some water. After that i ran a few patches of Hoppes cleaner and then some oil... thats enough ...
