So, the rougher feeling finish to the wood is not a problem? It just has a totally different feel to it than my other Tula. ( a 1938 I think)

I got mine from classic, one of the chinese ones. All up it was about $350 i think, shipping and what not.

JayRocka - i was quoted around $60 for the glass. I do not know if that is tempered or not, i just asked for glass that would be appropiate for a coffee table.

Paul - 0 Mosins - just the crate only. It was a gift , but i know it cost $100- My girlfriend talked them down from $150.
They did not know about the accessories ( oil bottles ect ) nor did my girlfriend.... that was a nice bonus

The range i have been going to only allows soft point or hollow point rounds on the rifle range.
The cheapest i have found hav been close to $1 per round- is this the norm?
Any suggestions on what / where to look? ( i have been to the big box stores in my area )

So, it seems Mosins came with a little cleaning kit, including a oil/ cleaner can. Also , my SKS even has a little hole in the stock for cleaning kit ( i find that really cool ! ) Do modern military rifles come with them? Just curious, i am not familiar with modern firearms , short of some knowledge...

I first shot the stuff i found at cabela's... Herters i think it is called. Once i knew the mosin was going to shoot well, i bought a case of the military ( corrosive) stuff and take a bottle of water just for the mosin. Now i just shoot the mil surp stuff because it is cheap and i have a lot of it....

I like the rifle stand... i think i have a weekend project comming up...
