You have to wonder how the Chinese can fuck up a Mosin stripper clip. They made the type 53, it's a good rifle, just as good as the M44, they must have made millions of stripper clips for the ammo these rifles ate. The Chinese strippers on Chinese ammo are ok, it's the new made repops that are junk.

Not Elm, elm is more of a open grain. You see it alot on M48 mausers, and Yugo SKS's. Once in a while on a Swede Mauser.
