Re: My rule on $100 Mil-Surps got me again... Type88 and Ari
Your Chinese Hanyang 88 is made by factory 21 in 1942 (Republic of China year 31) The reverse swastika symbol is the factory mark for factory 21. 46,600 Hanyang 88 were made that year

Re: Chinese contract Mauser 98k
Hey this rifle looks really nice. I do have one nearly identical, except that mine has a painted barrel and receiver? Also has the Mauser banner like yours and the Chinese 12 point stars. Or are they suns? I forget at the moment. Mine has a straight bolt. Would mine be the Standard model you mentio...

Re: What do you think ?
That is an exceptional deal. There is a crest on the receiver ring? I am thinking not, it's likely one of the rifles the Argentine government refurbished back in the 60's for resale on the surplus market. The thinking was they get more money if the rifles don't look like crap. They were right, and ...

What do you think ?
My friend offer me this Mauser (a 1909 Argentine ?) with bayonet and org. leather sling, all together for $290, just wonder if this is a ok price ? All number is matching on the rifle, down to the clearing rod. But the stock looks like were sanded. And bolt polished ? Crest on the receiver has been ...

Re: 1905 Mosin M91
Thanks :D Does anybody know where these were imported from ? Russia,Ukraine or other place ? Based on the scrubbed czarist crests, looks like a Balkan import I believe. Great looking rifle, love some of those neat repairs on the stock. Metal is in great condition considering it's 109 years old! Tha...

1905 Mosin M91
My friend called me up few days ago, to check out his Mauser for sale. When I got to his place, he had more than just the Mauser (nice Persian 98/29) for sale, he also had this Mosin for sale. Since I already have a short Persian Mauser (VZ24) I would love to have this M91. He said it is a 1905 Mosi...

Re: Just one more SKS
The photo below shows a (bottom) Russian late '50 with a later Russian 1956 gas block, the '50 is slanted, the '56 is curved,(a '49/early '50 would look more like a Yugo M59/66, square cut). Yours is slanted, in the mid '50 to '52 range. Looking at the bayonet lug, the ears are straight, not angled...

Re: Just one more SKS
It's not a Letter series Russian, but judging from what looks like a slanted gas block, if it is a slanted style gas block and not a rounded type, it's is a mid 1950'ish-'52 build. It passed through a refurb at some point given the 2 sets of serials on the stock. Without the matching top cover, the...
