Hello All I need some 7.62 x 54r soft point ammo ( sooner than i can order it ) . I have a bunch of FMJ and 7.62 x 39 154 gr. soft point, so i pulled both bullets and pressed the soft point in, with a little fingernail polish as a sealer ! Opinions please ! Jim DSCF3465.JPG

Hello all Been takeing my SKS hunting this year ( nothing so far ) but a guy at the range told me about they have a 7.62 x 39 in a 154 grain sp. I picked up 120 rounds at a good price. Anyone had an experience with them hunting ? Many Thanks :thumbsup:

Hello All Going to try hunting with my M38, i see not a lot of offerings of soft point ammo in 7.62 x 54R. All the Russian stuff is 203 gr. PPU offers a 150 gr. and Sellers & Betts has a 180 gr. What grain weight has anyone found best for the Mosin Carbines ???? Many Thanks !! :thumbsup:

Hello All !! Has anyone tried custom relaods to minimize the recoil of the 7.62 x 54r cartridge. Getting older, and shoulder ain't what it use to be !!! I have a M38 i would like to take deer hunting this year ! Jim

How does the recoil of the K31 compare to a Mosin M44 ? Getting older, and the M44 is a little to much !

Sounds a lot like mine, recently bought it from SOG as Chinese, but with Greasemonkeys help , It's Russian. Not sure about the Tula arsenal ,because of these marks on the barrel. Jim
