Re: Finn M39 1960s/70s?

As soon as it arrives, my first job will be to break it down and inspect the tang date and to look for mother nature's bounty (leaves, sand, dirt, pine needles) under the receiver. Even if the tang is not dated, there are numerous sources and records that show when hex receiver manufacturing ceased ...

Re: Finn M39 1960s/70s?

Will post images of the rifle when it arrives. Thanks for verification of the tang date. Yes, I know they are rare, that's why I wanted to jump on this one. Unfortunately most of my work is based out of Hollywood, my wife is a teacher tied to her local school districts pension, which she will lose a...

Finn M39 1960s/70s?

Hi all: I am from California and here, we may not purchase mail order C&R long guns that aren't at least 50 years old, regardless of their C&R status, unlike the rest of the country. I want to buy a Finn M39 "None" with either a 1967 or 68 date stamped receiver. Were these rifles a...

DO it and do it now! You will never regret buying a CMP M1. This is my favorite rifle I own, a '54 HRA Service Special. So much fun to shoot.

Not true, I live in California and have had two CMP M1 Garands as well as dozens of other C&R rifles including SKS shipped to my door in the past two years.

Which Finn?

I have decided to acquire my first M39. People have told me to look for a SKY, WWII years are good but 1960 or 1970's receiver even more collectible. Any other M39 advice on what to look for? If I cannot find a SKY would SAKO be the next most desirable? Any other M39 tips to look out for? I love the...

Re: My CZ ZKM468 FInally Arrived!

There was a group of us over on Calguns that all ordered these and the variations on the stock color and patterns were pretty interesting. A few got lucky and ended up with Tiger striped wood and I saw a few that were pretty dark, but it seems as if all of them were in pretty nice shape.

Re: My CZ ZKM468 FInally Arrived!

Yes, this is a 1950. Wideners had them for just a day or two, then they sold out. I have been looking for a well crafted single shot .22 and when these came up. I pounced. Not bad for $169.00, huh?

My CZ ZKM468 FInally Arrived!

Hi all: This just arrived from Wideners, I am very happy with it. I heard about these a few weeks ago and by the time I placed my order, I was concerned that they would be sold out. I think my order was one of the last ones as they were sold out an hour after mine went through. Not bad for $169.00, ...

The guy I bought it from also had a wooden grip one but the sides and backstrap were mismatched, I thought this one looked better.

My First M1895 Nagant

1944 Izhevsk M1895 Nagant, my first one. Bought it private party in Arizona the other day, it basically looks like a brand new gun, got it for $149.00. Looking forward to shooting it. The bore is like a mirror, can't believe the shape this thing is in. http://i1078.photobucket.com/albums/w489/capyba...

Good deal on a CZ50

Hi all: I am on a road trip and found a decent condition CZ50 for $150.00. What can any of you tell me about this gun. Did a little research and people say to not feed it .32 ACP, that Euro or South American 7.65 will feed better. Are magazines expensive for it? Kind of blows the low price if I have...

Re: Showcase submission Sanitized 1943 Izhevsk 91/59

Yeah, that poly coating looks like hell IMHO as do the painted escutcheons and barrel bands. Whoever had it before me also installed sling swivels too when they could have just used a Mosin sling. I removed the sling swivels and filled the holes with plastic wood and then colored them to match the s...

Re: Showcase submission Sanitized 1943 Izhevsk 91/59

Your stock looks remarkably like the stock on my '53 Hungarian. Unfortunately Bubba painted the sling escutcheons black?!?!? and coated the stock with Devil's Snot but the metal was new and it shoots great. It is one of my favorite shooters. http://i1078.photobucket.com/albums/w489/capybara84/IMG_09...

I scored 250 rounds of the Herters Brass .45 ACP from Cabelas today at .44 per round and was happy to get it. .45 ACP is now much cheaper than 9mm?!?!
