Re: Finally got a 1895 Nagant and Romanian TT-C

What does the writing say, above the "1918" on the 1895 Nagant.
My 1914 has part of that writing scrubbed, always wondered what it says.

Re: jc higgins 22 scope mount.

Thought I would reply to this old thread in case anyone still needed the answer. Had the same exact problem when I recently bought a JC Higgins Model 29 semi-auto made in mid 1950s. Could not get a set of rings to fit the dovetail, so started researching why not, and I found out......... The Sears ....

In the Mekong Delta we fished that way, with frags and concussion grenades, and once in while, C4.
But we would never eat the fish, just let the little kids jump in and get them when they floated up...... 8-)

Re: Range Etiquette

I'm lucky, there is a very nice county owned range only about 10 minutes from my house. It always has at least 3 ROs and very strict about the rules, don't follow them and you are escorted out. You fire for 15 minutes and then a break, even the 100 yard guys hustle so there is never a long wait to ...

Re: AIM HAS 91/30 SHOOTERS

Was in Big 5 Sporting Goods today and they had one 91/30 in the store. A typical refurb,
nothing special and priced at $220. Guy said he was surprised he still had it after a
couple of weeks. Told him I wasn't surprised he still had it........ 8-)

Re: Shot the Nagant today

You are correct. As an experiment at the range, I alternated surplus and commercial rounds in
the cylinder. BANG - pop - BANG - pop - BA....well, you get the idea.
The surplus ammo makes it feel like your shooting a real pistol........ 8-)

Re: First trip to the range

My problem is the nerves that come out of the vertebrae in my neck are messed up. If I shoot much of the light or heavy ball, then I suffer for a month. The low recoil lets me do about a hundred rounds and it's time to go home. When I first got these rifles years ago, I could shoot them all day.......

Re: First trip to the range

The range is owned and run by the county, open 8 to 5, Thurs thru Sun. When it's hot you go at 8 and leave by 11. The best part is that it's only about 10 minutes from my house. I was there last Thurs. and put 98 rounds through my 91/30, thankfully they were low recoil training rounds or I would ha...

Check the "Military and Modern Handguns Forum", may be some info there as that's where
everyone talks about the 1895 Nagants.
