https://www.libertytreecollectors.com/productcart/pc/viewPrd.asp?idproduct=455&idcategory=2#details I decided I NEED not want but NEED another 91/30. The ones at the gun shows are most often overpriced and under rated in overall condition. Liberty Tree has a nice pic of 91/30's they are selling....

Re: M24 vs K98

Re: M24 vs K98
yea kinda was :) I'm not sure yet why this rifle was abandoned but it looks to me it was an unfinished project by my great grandfather. It all fits together and the firing pin works with a dry fire. missing a seat spring (the front spring under the trigger bar that let the bolt go) tho. Found a coup...

Re: M24 vs K98
I found it ! I found the floor plate trigger guard and spring. I had to dig around for a while. The bolt actually looks more like the one on the left (in last picture) so ya for sure light version. Not allot of parts to these things I guess. I really hope this is not over chambered but I will find o...

Re: M24 vs K98
Found this on another forum: Don't be jealous (just kidding) Page 116 in De Haas: "The "small ring" Mauser actions have a receiver ring diameter of about 1.300". A lot of the early M98 carbines, like the 98a were based on the small ring action. The most notable later carbine usin...

Re: M24 vs K98
"looks like a 1893-1896 small ring. Could be Mexican, I can't see the markings clearly. These were originally 7mm" Great! Well I have looked up allot of floor plates on line $30-40 avg and they have a 7.5" hole spacing center to center. I measured this gun at its holes on center are 7...

M24 vs K98
So I have been looking over the K98 exploded view diagram and wondered If I could get some insight as to the differences (main) between a M24 and K98 mauser mechanically speaking. Specifically in floor plate (clip) trigger guard assembly. Looks to me that most K98 mauser floor plates will fit a M24 ...

Re: My 1st 91/30 Mosin Nagant
I have been cruzing the posts and have seen the 91/30 that have scopes. Based on the overall positive responses they received I feel confident what I am imagining for my 91/30 will turn out real nice and very historical at its core. I believe I can update and get the most out of my nagant without ta...

I am having fun with my 91/30 these days. Watched enemy at the gates and decided I need a mauser for my collection also. I know very little about them but I am doing my homework. Could I get some advice on 1930-1942 mausers ? I am looking for something functional yet authentic from that period ie......

Re: My 1st 91/30 Mosin Nagant
Nice pics! Sound advice from all. I will watch the bullet cycle closer and see what's going on. It looked more like rim lock from what is being described but I am going to try and work out the bugs today at the range.
Thanks again everyone.
hope to have some pics this time.
