Imho, I wouldn't replace any parts unless you intend to shoot it, in which case I would only replace the front barrel band. I wouldn't even replace the rod since commerciel rods are really what you want to clean the thing anyway. As far as possible I would leave it as is. What kind of shape is the b...

A few thoughts.... I own two M59s. I bought one as a collector's piece and liked it so much it became one of my main user rifles. Therefore, I bought a second one to put away. 1931 receiver from maybe the end of the year with a 1932 barrel hung on it. Maybe done at refurb and it just came out that way? One will never be able to tell I am afraid. Stock repairs are interesting too! Congrats on a nice refurb! Bill :wink: My hunch is that it was originally produced that way....
