M95 Hungary??
Yesterday I was at a local shop that has a lot of nice old stuff. I picked up a carbine and the tag said Hungarian M95. Somewhere I saw that it was 8mm Mauser caliber. On the receiver it said Hungary and Budapest and I did not see import marks (however i wasn't looking). It was in great shape but I ...

Re: PU from RGuns
Sweet is exactly the word I'd use. Frankly I was pretty darned surprised. A thought just occurred to me... I have a Mauser that my grandfather sporterized and changed to 30.06 in the late 40's (I wish it were original but it still has sentimental value to me- he passed in 1972). It is a dead solid s...

Re: PU from RGuns
My wife loves the M44 and tries to usurp my ownership of it. I do not allow that but do allow her to shoot it. She loves the big sound and muzzle flash that the carbine generates. I've got a beautiful 91/30 waiting for her as a Christmas present. :D I put about 50 rounds through it and ended up with...

Re: PU from RGuns
My first impression can be summed up with smooth. The trigger is amazingly light, crisp, and it is easily the best rifle trigger I have ever experienced. It reminds me a lot of the single action of my P64 which is at 3.25 lbs. Every time I pulled the trigger, it seemed as though i thought about firi...

Re: PU from RGuns
This is not the range report you all probably want to see but some real world constraints have left me without a trip to the outdoor range where I could shoot at distance. Time and last weekend, weather have only allowed for two visits to my home indoor range which tops out at 25m. However even at t...

Re: Shot The Mosin For The Very First Time Today And..
They were blaming the Colorado wildfires on sparks caused by steel core ammo. I live on a big "hill" and can see approximately 80 miles worth of range, from Boulder to Wyoming and saw smoke from the several fires rising up from the front range for months. These sights were something I nev...

Re: What is on your gun bucket list ?
Right, I only mentioned it because it was put on the C&R list because of its "unique" bore. I meant it as an example of other firearms that make the list that are not previously on it and a new C&R eligibility might help create an import market that otherwise does not currently exi...

Re: What is on your gun bucket list ?
I was thinking that exact thing... I'll always have hope that forgotten or lost items turn up. Like the Spitfires in Australia, or that someone makes something like a Cz82 C&R eligible because of the rifling (or lack thereof as it were). But I've never had that sort of timing; perhaps I need to ...

Re: What is on your gun bucket list ?
I'd love to know what the next p.o.s rifle is going to be. I got into Mosins in time to collect them cheaply, but not in time for most everything else.

Re: What is on your gun bucket list ?
Czechpoint has taken to calling the CZ52 pistol a vz52 pistol. I hate name changes. I have a Cz82 which is my favored shooter; I hope they don't change the name of that too. :shifty: She rifle: odd you should say that. My wife will have a Mosin under the tree for Christmas. She fired my M44 and trie...

Re: What is on your gun bucket list ?
In no particular order: vZ52- the gray one, pistol not the rifle of the same name. (so confusing those Czechs) Dragoon dated 1917 Some sort of 5.56mm assault rifle. Either a modern, currently available new one or a HK93 Various Mosins that are unique in some way, stock, nationality, etc. Kriegsmarin...

Re: any rounds to stay away from?
I'm one of those people that believes that more is better. With prices of $62-70 for a 440 rd can, I cannot even justify buying non surplus ammo. You can even get lead core surplus for those prices and not have to worry about steel core rounds. It never surprises me how quickly I use ammo... ...
