Star Super B takedown lever broke.

Well rats. The takedown lever on my star snapped off this afternoon after 2mags. Amy ideas where to find one? I've checked the usual places (Sarco, Numrich) with no luck. Ideas? Thanks

Re: My new Star Super B

I ran about 50rds through the Star this afternoon. Shot very well and is a sweet heart to shoot. With One mag it functioned 100% the other had a FTE every third round. It looks like it's feed lips are slightly wider and the out going round is hitting the next round in the mag which gums up the works...

My new Star Super B

I drove up to AIM and picked up a Star Modelo Super B. I love the feel of an all medal pistol, especially if it's from the 1911's extended family! It's in great shape, with next to no hosted wear. I'll give a range report after I shoot it in the morning. http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/15/02/24/28...

Re: Thoughts on the Sarsilmaz SARB6P.

I for got to mention that the price on the B6P has jumped from $267 to $323 (with free shipping) at Buds. CDNN still has them for $250 (+$14 shipping, $264 total) and CDNN's service was excellent! I order on Monday morn and Picked it up Wednesday afternoon.

Thoughts on the Sarsilmaz SARB6P.

I picked up my SARB6P this afternoon from my local FFL. I have not have the chance to shoot the pistol yet so these are what a youtuber would call a "tabletop review". I have bought many new firearms and this is the first one I've ever received bone dry. The only oil I could find on the pi...

Re: SAR B6P 9mm Range Report

Nor do I (care for striker fired weapons). I cast my own bullets so I can reload 9mm for $60-$70 a thousand. If you powder coat your bullets leading isn't a problem. It's cheaper than my black powder pistol!

Re: SAR B6P 9mm Range Report

Will do. As it happens the SAR is the replacement for a p95 I had. My wife has weak wrists and COULD NOT stop limp wristing the Ruger (I also didn't like the mushy single action trigger). It was reliable and quite accurate but at the time I could only afford one handgun so I traded it for a revolver...

Re: SAR B6P 9mm Range Report

I just ordered a SAR B6P from CDNN this morning. At $249 I just couldn't past it up! I can't wait till Wednesday to pick it up.

Re: ignorant new BP owner

Welcome to the world of Flintlocks! The answer to your first question is "yes", flintlocks must use black powder to function properly. However as long as your frizzen sparks well you can prime with FFFg as well as FFFFg (4F) and since your rifle is a .50 cal FFFg is fine for the main charg...

A .357 case is right about 25-27 grains.

Re: Made a BAD mistake ( Almost ) Could have ended Badly

My Pietta steel frame Remington loves a load of 26grains of FFFg and my home cast .454 balls. At 7 yards it will put all six balls through one hole.

Re: My first black powder rifle!

No joke! Modern inline's aren't my thing but I don't think that it is a capital offence to own and enjoy one. I actually spent this evening casting lead balls for my black powder firearms :)

That rifle has more history than most modern high school history text books. Thanks for sharing !

Re: My first black powder rifle!

I have no problem with either. I shoot black powder because it's cheaper and there is TONS of load data. If I was hunting with a modern inline I would use 777 or Buckhorn 209 - most likely.

Re: My first black powder rifle!

It seems with American Pioneer Powder people have one of two opinions about the stuff. They either love it - or hate it. I've always wondered if the reason is inconsistent quality between batches. Alliant's Black MZ is regarded as being possibly the best BP sub but it's impossible to find around here.

I have a large tool box I have made in my "possibles box". I thought it would be too big, but it's shrunk considerably in the past month.

Re: My first black powder rifle!

I've been reading about the paper cartridges that the old time cap and ball shooters used. One that pique my interest was one made by The Hazard Powder Company. It was a load composed of 20 grains of extremely fine powder, about the same as FFFFg, and a 220 grain conical. Modern testing has shown th...
