Re: Berdan to Boxer

Rounds like that sent after shooting cast can help remove some lead from the barrell, but I doubt it does anything for salt. I know that I would not be risking any of my rifles on that...

Re: First M39 - 1941 Sako

Brian - there is definitely not a grease hole like the one that you pictured. However I have read on here about some of them possibly being plugged. I looked for this but did not notice it - but I was looking in the wrong spot    - next time I have it out of the stock I will know w...

Seems somebody along the supply chain line is getting a little greedy and selling the beloved accessories for some extra....

Re: First M39 - 1941 Sako

Is it true that the Chatellerault mark is a P in a circle? If so then I may have at least figured out the make of my receiver.... Will post a pic if this is a possibility.

Re: magazine door question

While I am not sure of the normality of the floor plate being loose, I can say that a couple of mine have a wiggle similar to what you describe. Absolutely no issues with shooting AFAIK.

Re: First M39 - 1941 Sako

I see Liberty Tree has the set of 2 buttplate screws, but shows to be for the 91/30. Would those be correct or did the Finns have a special screw? Definitely more correct than the Phillips head screws in there right now. Also the plate seems narrow for the stock. Again is this normal? Thanks again a...

First M39 - 1941 Sako

Hello all Received a call yesterday - buddy had found this 1941 Sako M39 at a GS wondering if I would be interested in it. Price was $200 delivered and mine, I jumped on it without even seeing or knowing much of anything about the gun. When he brought it to me I was of course jumping with excitement...

Very nice looking 29 Izhevsk! Looks to be a post war stock that would have been installed at refurbishment.

Re: Heads up...AIM has ammo

At that price CTD can kiss my ass. CTD plays this kind of game every time there is any kind of buying panic. And it seems they become more popular every time they do it... It simply amazes me that a company that has shown itself willing to screw their customers time and time again is able to stay i...

Re: Increased value of Mosins

If you buy two or more handguns in a week it has to be reported BTW .. this does not apply to long guns. Just FYI as it's one of those rules I was told if I ever decided to start selling or transferring with my license. I imagine it's only applicable to buying from the same dealer as you can't know...

Re: 2400 powder and cast bullets

I use 16.0 grains 2400 using the Lee 160gr TL, gaschecked. No polyfill, never a problem with igniting the primer. I am able to achieve much better groups with this than with the surplus, just be prepared to adjust your sights as they drop much quicker. I normally set at 400m for a 100 yd shot.

What is the mark on the receiver of the 28 Izhevsk? Almost looks like the imperial eagle or am I seeing things? Recycled receiver?

Re: Question on Counterboring?

My best shooting 91/30 has a counterbore. I, too was leary of the counterbore but decided to buy it since it had other attributes I was looking for. Turns out to be the best decision as I can outshoot some of the tacticool boys with it :-)
