Re: oppinions of the 9mm tokarev

I have a Norinco in 9mm, trouble is, I only had one magazine and the crappy plastic baseplate broke. It is the mag with the spacer built in it(not in the mag well). Can't find a damn replacement anywhere... I bought the darn thing 20 years ago for dirt if I remember right Oh well...

Re: Some American Made goodness

I'll probably just run the stock trigger. I've heard really good stuff about the apex stuff though. I want to get a blacked out rear sight with the same profile as the one it has but I also want a red fiber front sight. The stock trigger took some getting used to but I think I've got it. Now I just...

Re: Some American Made goodness

Target, We currently have 2 M&P's and really like them! Wife's is bone stock and she produces some nice groups with it. Mine on the other hand has had some modifications for my steel matches... I installed an Apex Forward set sear and trigger kit and a set of Novak fiber sights (you have to drif...

Re: .45 acp question.

I believe Berry's suggests a mid point of lead and Fmj as a good point to start at.

I didn't drag my books out, but I use Berry's 230gr RN over 4.5 gr of Titegroup @ 1.250. I will look at the books tomorrow to see where that falls and check my notes for chrono #'s

My "Second edition Lee Manual" for 8x57 Mauser with 150gr Jacketed Bullet using IMR4064 says: 42.0-49.5(max... and would be compressed) oal: 2.950 Different edition maybe? *Edit: grabbed my other 3 manuals for the hell of it, but at least you'll have a solid starting point for reference* S...

Re: Contemplating a M1 Garand purchase

Any M1 Garand that was sent to another country on a " Lend/Lease " program (Greece was one I believe) eventually gets returned. These countries send them back to the Army, who in turn sends them to the CMP. The Presidential order most likely won't effect the CMP as it mentions the re-impor...

CMP Service grade HRA's are nice! Mine came with the original USGI Walnut stock. They do not come with a bayonet or sling. Just like you see it here...

Re: Underwood M1 Carbine meets a peace time Underwood

I have a 1912 (I think... have to look when I pull down the pallet at work) folding corona. It folds up nice in the case and was supposedly used during WW1 out in the field. I'll have to get some pics of it. I actually have 6 or 7 pre 50's typewriters packed up that use to be display pieces at work.

Re: Family visit bring homes

You would have a welded bit of metal with no temper in it, try Dixie Gun Works in Union City Tennessee, they have a large assortment of old parts, or Numrich arms. A simple plastic pistol case will protect the revolver in the safe, just make sure the foam insert is closed cell, wrap the revolver in...

Love my SR1911... I am finding the same as you, it shoots better than I am capable of. The more I use it, the tighter the groups get

Primers have been scarce for some time now... happened in to one of the larger LGS today and he had a full shelving unit packed with primers.

Needless to say, I'll be eating Romen noodles and :spam2: for the rest of the week!

Re: Ballsy manner in which I ordered my 2nd M1 Garand

Yup... she looks lonely, I'm thinking another one will be on order soon! Someone asked the CMP head cheese on the boards why the wait is so long. He said they currently have 20,000 orders outstanding, 6000 of which is for 22lr ammo which they won't see until October with a small amount of kimber .22...

Re: Death of a PKM

I was flipping channels and stopped when I saw the PKM out of curiosity. The PKM was de-mil'd before import by cutting the reciever in 4 pieces with a torch and all the parts were in a cardboard box. The reciever couldn't be repaired so the ordered a new semi reciever and converted it to FA by milli...

Re: PRVI 7.62x54r Brass Good?

That would depend on many factors... However, if California pee's on your parade, you could always look into annealing. A friend of mine anneals after every 4th reload and I think he's on this 3rd cycle. I guess if you get desperate... here is a good article. http://www.24hourcampfire.com/annealing....
