Re: How many times do you shoot a year?
I've lost count. I've started making less trips to the range but shooting more when I go. I used to go pretty frequently but only a shoot 20 or so 30 cal rounds and maybe 50-100 .22s. I shoot my larger calibers much more than I used to because I have developed reduced ammunition that consequently co...

Re: Whats your most accurate milsurp rifle?
My Garand shoots better than my K31 and M39....or is it that I shoot the Garand better? What is even more surprising is that none of what you are about to see would point to an accurate rifle. First, the muzzle looks like this http://s1007.beta.photobucket.com/user/bsrman36/media/M1%20Garand/IMG_080...

Re: Lee Enfield No.4 MArk1*
I know next to nothing about Enfields but they always seem really rough. Which is to say I think your rifle is really sharp to say the least! And what impresses me the most is how tight the muzzle is. I'd be shooting that rifle at my local matches in a hurry! I have a big soft spot for receiver moun...

Re: Future of the hobby
I think its is going to be quite awhile until a 91/30 is ever worth substantially more than 300 bucks. The Mosin is different than any other imported milsurp because they were millions upon millions of them made.

Re: PU accuracy
I too have wondered about the PU limits. I have heard that the 91/30 was considered the best sniper rifle fielded in WW2 even the firearms curator at the Wild Bill museum said it. now, with my experience with quite a few Mosin Nagants and the thick hairs on the PU, I would most likely get M.O.C.( m...

Re: what can you guys tell me about this rifle?
Well i can tell you that is a hard shot. I likely am doing it wrong and i can't ever get a good one. I keep trying though. Are you referring to taking pictures of the bore? Its pretty easy to be honest. All you need is a basic digital camera and some good light. You can't really tell much about bar...

Re: what can you guys tell me about this rifle?
I see. If it doesn't have the nice trigger then to me its just a 91/30 with a funny looking stock and a few letters added to it haha

Re: what can you guys tell me about this rifle?
Oh its not my rifle but its for sale on a forum I frequent. I would definitely buy it if I could inspect the bore for its condition and if it had a Finnish trigger job. Well and I also just bought an AR upper so its out of the question haha. I'm just looking to have a more keen eye for Mosins

what can you guys tell me about this rifle?
Okay guys so last time you were really helpful and I starting to get the hang of this. I think its a finned 91/30 but is it legit? http://imageshack.us/g/1/9758473/ Obviously its got the SA mark, D-marked barrel shank, and a potbelly stock, escutcheon plate and possibly a low wall receiver? Given th...

Re: what about this one? real or fake?
For that money I would want that rifle in hand so I could authenticate it, if it is a Finn marked Soviet PU it's a rare bird. That would be a unrefurbished Soviet PU, rare enough by itself, add the SA and you have something real special. This kind of money would make it a very attractive item to fa...

If you care to read his lengthy text and look at his tiny picture I'd like to know what you guys think about this rifle and why? No, I have no interest in it I am just trying to learn how to spot the real thing. So you're input and knowledge is appreciated. http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem....

It looks like it is pretty good. I am not sold on the powder yet but maybe one day. :vcool: :vcool: I agree with you on the powder, I'm not exactly sold either. I mean its good stuff but I think there MIGHT be better choices. Such as IMR 4579? TB is really nice for filling the case capac...

.312 pistol bullets & M39 revisited
Hello guys, I finally got out to the range today and of course my newly acquired Finn M39 came along :D Today I tested a very unconventional load. Hornady makes a 100 grain .312 pistol bullet. It caught my attention because its cheap and would have especially low recoil if matched to the right powde...

Re: Lithgow Enfield No1 MKII* unissued .22 trainer
There is something so cool about .22 training rifles of all makes and models. If I were to ever be a collector .22 trainers would definitely be my route.
Nice rifle.

Re: My new "springfield armory" M1 Garand from the CMP
I've put in a fair bit of work. Military police, civilian law enforcement training, self study shooting hobby etc. I'm a fair good shot in my opinion, not competition class, but I did get a marksmanship award from the Air Force once upon a time. Can't wait to get another "new" Garand I wo...

Heads up for the experimenter, very interesting 8-) 8-) 8-) :D Yes, JYD, 2 out of 4 of my Mosins outshoot my sons's Savage .308 and his "Pride" FAL.Nato.....I said at 250 meters, didnt I.. with cheap shit steel rounds compared to brass from him......and no scope, I must say, as on old gun...
