Re: Collections

Well, I have a tuff time with "art" photography, but here is my "Newer stuff". My rev war stuff remains in the "lock up" and never comes out for photos on the internet (except 2 or 3 of them).

Well, My T53 is not nearly as nice, but I only paid $40 for it so I had to try it. Here are two of my best carbines for accuracy. Top M44....Bottom T53 (both have been around the block a couple of times!) http://www.thedolk.com/T53/leftside.jpg This is what it looked like when I got it. http://thedo...

Well, they are in the hands of Bob and I am waiting for him to send everything over to me. I set up a FTP site for him to upload all the files.

Re: Kari's Enfield

I was running through my emails looking for things he sent me on reloading Mosin ammo. I ran across this one. A few down is loading instructions for the 303 ammo and a problem I was having with my #5 Enfield (headspacing). I'll post them later.

I started on the Lee handbook. Especially good if you have Lee equipment (but not necessary). Walks you right through each step.

I don't know....there is something that just appeals to me about that carbine.

Very nice looking rifle, and like JYD said, I'll bet it's built like a tank. 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-)

Thanks for the photo look!

Re: Does anyone have the Production Figures for the Type-53?

I don't think you will find production numbers from China. It is the reason we can't by Chinese SKS's as a C&R. They refuse to give that information out, even to this day. So there is no way to prove the age of your Chinese SKS, so no C&R (BATF rules). Best site on the T53 is here http://mos...

Re: Mosin Reloading Kit

That correct. Reloading is cheaper than buying new ammo, but nothing is cheaper than surplus ammo in a Mosin.

Reloading 7.62 x 54r is for target shooters.

I just posted a load example on the reload forum from or friend Kari.

What would look cool is a set of double western style holsters! Strap them on and no one would dare play with you! ;)

I like those.....don't get me started! 8-)

Very nice one! There is just something about a PU Sniper that just gets hold of you!

And it's got that "on top of the receiver import mark from RGUNS in small font" seal of approval, so you know it's real!

Nice Sniper Miller! 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-)

Kari Prager favorite 7.62 x 54r load

My first attempt to reload was under the guidance of Kari. I knew very little about reloading but I did have all the equipment. He took me through loading my first round step by step , or should I say email by email! :D I remember reloading my first round. I emailed him and told him I was a little w...

Re: Poll for the Forum: How may of us have a 1956 Made Type-

The last dated T53 was made in 1961. Very rare. But you see 1960's a lot, so production of the SKS by the Chinese in 1956 did not stop the T53 from being made all the way to 1961. Lots of the T53 went to Vietnam as aid.

Hi Paul,

I have a T53 but it is a 1955. I bought it to enter "Who has the most beat up T53" contest. I came in second to Millman I think.

The weird part is, it is one of my best shooting Mosins and most accurate ones I own. 8-) Go figure!

Re: Few Mosin Nagant Questions

It's a 1939 M91/30 Russian rifle. There are some very neat things on the barrel shank that are harder to find marks (little more collectable). MO marks and duel dated are some of them. You can read up on them, and I'm sure others will comment on them also. The big Star with the arrow in the center m...
