Re: Just picked up crate fresh 1935/50 Tula MO 91/30 Hex

Buying a crate is possible, some places will sell them, I think the cost is around two grand. Then you have to get six men to help you carry it into the house. Convenient as these same six men can act as pallbearers at your funeral when your wife sees the crate :) Haha yea ain't that the truth. I d...

Re: Pt 2 Crate fresh 1928 Tula Ex Dragoon

Is it an x-sniper? That stock repair is interesting. Have you pulled the bolt and checked the inside of the receiver wall for screw hole repairs? I haven't checked for any screw hole repairs yet I will tonight. The repair is pretty neat an ex sniper stock if first thing I thought of because of the ...

Re: Pt 2 Crate fresh 1928 Tula Ex Dragoon

You can find information on the forum information page as well, Lapins book has useful info, but it's dated. Stock repairs in that area are not necessarily because of a scope mount, cracking happens there as well, or a split as it's a thin spot in the wood. That's makes sense I was just going off l...

Re: Just picked up crate fresh 1935/50 Tula MO 91/30 Hex

The Russians did it also, but it's the Finns that elevated it to an art form. In short they are used to adjust the action in the stock and improve wood to metal fit for increased accuracy. There can be from none at all, to as many as ten or more in various locations around the action. If you find t...

Re: Pt 2 Crate fresh 1928 Tula Ex Dragoon

Think the oil can was made for captured German Mausers. I just found another square dual compartment oil can that has Polish markings on it. It's pretty cool It was in a Rubbermaid crate full of loose ammo pouches and I picked it up and when I asked the gun store owner what he wanted for it he said ...

Pt 2 Crate fresh 1928 Tula Ex Dragoon

Here is the second rifle out of the crate I picked up. It is a 1928 Tula Ex Dragoon. This rifle also had metal shims but they are both in the stock under the trigger guard. The stock also has a repair on the top corner in the rear of the receiver and I noticed it's a solid stock the nose piece is no...

Just picked up crate fresh 1935/50 Tula MO 91/30 Hex

Last weekend I picked up two surplus 91/30 hex's at a local gun store. They had just got a crate of them in the day before I went and Saturday I was able to lay the rifles out on a blanket at the gun store and go through all of them. This crate had some of the nicest surplus 91/30's I've seen yet an...

Re: B marked M39 1942

Nice M39  I picked up a M39 B a few weeks ago and shoot it more than any other, Just be careful as Junk Yard Dog warned me. When taking the receiver out of the stock be mindful of the shims that may or may not be under your receiver. They can be stuck to the under side of the receiver or i...

Re: Can anyone explain this? Why?

Drop them smokes and lighter and you can carry more money to the store for more rifles.  You have a good point there. I don't carry them that much anymore once a week or so when I have a long ride or day but I usually chew the nicorette gum its was free from a quit program at work s...

Re: Can anyone explain this? Why?

Im always dropping crap getting out of the jeep walking down my sidewalk to the house,in parking lots at stores and pretty much anywhere and everywhere. Re: Can anyone explain this? Why?

Thank you for not linking to the live auction, I clicked the link and found myself looking at designer purses, not really my thing :) This is far from the first time this sort of thing has cropped up on eBay, there was one a couple of weeks back that was pointed out here, at least that one was for ...

Re: How many Mosins do you have?

New total is 8. Just added 2 more to the family. These 2 are my best Russian 91/30s yet. A 1935/50 Tula Hex double date and A 1928 Tula ex dragoon Hex with a sweet ex sniper stock. I'll be posting pics and some range report videos later today of both of them.

Re: Can anyone explain this? Why?

Well here is a new auction I found this morning. You don't see these often because most people are smarter than to break the law and violate BATF laws and guidelines right in the open on eBay. Here is a moron selling a Hex receiver with sear and trigger still attached!!! Wow!!! There ya go kids! Now...

Re: Can anyone explain this? Why?

The asshole was one of the people who bought Mosins to strip for parts, he probably had a pile of barreled receivers sitting around and realized at some point what the CH stamp was about. This is exactly what a few people are doing on eBay. They are buying Mosins and just stripping them down and se...

Re: Can anyone explain this? Why?

No it isn't logical, but there are people who will buy them anyway. Some are owners of Bubba rifles who want to return them to military and think all there is too it is to unscrew the old barrel and screw in the new one. If these auctions came with instructions on exactly what is required in changi...

Can anyone explain this? Why?

So I usually browse eBay for Mosin Nagant item's and lately I've been seeing quite a few barrels for sale and the prices people are paying just for the barrel make no sense. I mean if you buy one your making a gun something it never was and you risk permanently damaging the gun. I just found this li...
