Re: 7.62x54r handloads

M91 - Do you have a sling on your rifle? I never used to use the sling on my m91/30. One day, I just wrapped it around my left arm and it made a world of difference. The tension of the sling keeps the gun much more steady and places some of the weight on your upper torso, thus spreading the load out...

Re: Why corrosive ammo?

You must also take into account how many other firearms used this ammunition. While the Mosin nagant was replaced by newer weapons, what about machine guns such as the PKM? That started production in the early 1960s. Heavy use and abuse of those guns would cause the barrels to wear out relatively qu...

Hello folks! I recently slugged the barrels on my m91/30, my 28/30 and my friend's m44. I was wondering what people thought about these measurements. I used lead sinkers with grease on them for the slugging process and ran about 5 of them down each barrel. My m91/30 measured .3145in on avg. My M28/3...

Re: What type accuracy can I expect

I can only speak from my own experience. My friend has an m44 carbine and he is relatively accurate with it. He set a pineapple against his backstop (225yds) and was probably hitting it with about 50% of his shots. Now, he was shooting with irons at a brown fruit sitting on some dirt, so, it was ver...
