Re: NATO 7.62 with a mosin?

Some of the confusion results from how the different bores used to be measured. Here in the U.S. our military tend to measure from groove to groove, while most European militaries measured land to land. That's how you end up with .303 British (7.7x56r) using a .311 bullet, 7.62x54r and x39 using the...

Re: Are there any reliable no drill scope mounts for a MN

I've used both the Darryl mount and one from S&K. Both are rock solid, hold zero and easy to install. Neither is exactly cheap, tho. Also, since both are scout mounts, you can use your original bolt.

Re: ammo question

7.62x54r has been a smokeless round since day 1. The circle y and circle n are called black powder proofs, but since smokeless produces higher pressures, what is the purpose of using black powder? I have to think that it was simply the same stamp used for both powders.

Re: AMMO problem

Full length resizing doesn't return the cases to original factory dimensions. Close, but not quite. Could be your dies are a little on the loose side, or the chamber of your M91 could be a little tight or a combination. If the later, you may need to invest in a set of small base dies to size the cas...

Re: Casing Issues - Ammo? Rifle? Dangerous?

One other thing to consider. It doesn't look to me like the cases were annealed after forming, so the neck/shoulder area more than likely has been work hardened by the forming process. By not relieving the hardening, that area of the case is going to be somewhat brittle, and prone to cracking. I gue...

Re: Lot of words stamped on this receiver

It translates to "Foremost Ordnance Factory of the USSR at Tula".
