Isn't the triangle 1 stamp above the stock escutcheon less common?

Fantastic rifle. I started hunting by lugging around a Krag as a twelve year old, and the will always be a favorite of mine.

Re: m-91 info
There's a difference in all original and original configuration. Plus the Russians updated the m91 in 1908. If the leaf on the rear sight is arched, not flat, the sight was upgraded. Also I believe that pre 1908 stocks didn't have any slots for a sling, the hangers were on the front barrel band and ...

Re: 1944 Izhevsk Ex-MO or XO
I'm not sure that the OM is a normal prefix. Somewhere I have a photo of 91/30 #OM 1 from the early thirties. Yours has some mystery around it.

Re: Heads up: Aim has $119.95 Type 53's
My best friend and I bought one. It was so ugly it was scary looking but mechanically sound. We covered the action in sandbags and pulled the trigger with a cord for the first shot.
One of our other friends still has it.

1941 Tikka M91 for $100
You may have read about the 'B Barrel M91' that I recently bought sight unseen when it was posted online for $77 and change. Well I have it cleaned up a bit, it had a lot of cosmo on it. It's not what I or the seller though, the old pricetag on it was wrong. Turns out it is a '41 Tikka in fantastic ...

Re: Standard Battle Compliment?
My fiance and I were extras in the scene filmed at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh for the new Batman movie. I couldn't help but notice that the 'bad guy' that rushed into the stands closest to us had 2 mosin double ammo pouches on his belt. I never thought to ask what was in them.

A warning about Bannerman conversions.
Everything I've read says that the Bannerman mosins converted to 30-06 are unsafe to shoot. If you look at how much metal is left in the barrel shank around the chamber and you will see why. A local shop told me that they had taken in a strange mosin in trade and would I look at it. It wad a convert...

Aha! Target is the one who bought the last Finn handguard before I called!
I've ordered from them before. Great service.

Re: Finned NEW M91
I've seen one Finned NEW with the eagle X1,2,3 etc U.S. markings. It apparently went over during the US intervention after WW1 and made it to Finland. It also was over the 1 million serial number range. The strangest NEW I have seen is one converted into a 91/30, apparently in eastern Europe and som...

1936 non-import Tula 91/30 with dice mark
This Tula has moved on to live with a friend of mine. It's a nice one, and I thought I'd share. It has a lot of SCW features, but nothing definitive. No import marks at all, heavily sanded stock, and it has the strange 5 point 'dice mark' on the receiver that seems to show up on SCW or possible SCW ...

Finned NEW M91
While the camera is down I'll post a few photos that I've taken earlier. This is a New England Westinghouse that I purchased from a local gun shop. It's the same gunshop where an apparantly well known white van is it? had made an appearance and taken a few other sweet mosins home. They were posted o...

We loaded up .32 acp .311 diameter hollowpoints in a 303 brit once upon a time. This reminds me of those.
