Re: 44 Izhevsk's the quest continues

It's good that Izhevsk had to cease production of the SVT-40 in 1942! Gives you time to concentrate on the Mosin variants. And you, sir, are well on your way. Are you sure about that Martin??? I have seen a 44 Izhevsk SVT40 on GB in the past month, missed out on it being out of town with no ...

Yep, couldn't get my money out of my pocket fast enough. I had just come from a gun show where DPMS's where fetching $1100.00, so a lightly used one for a little over 1/2 price, plus all the mags was just what the doctor ordered. :toast:

Re: License Question

Any gun shop in Michigan will tell you to have you friend get and then they will transfer it to your name. That is actually how I learned about that law is from gun shop owners. Also most of the gun ranges in Michigan, including state run ranges, only have an age limit of 18 for both handguns and l...

Del-ton M4

Well another Saturday another gunshow, and after 6 months of looking for another AR that would "talk to me" I have ended my quest, it came down to a Ruger SSR piston AR, or the Delton M4, and as nice as the Ruger is, and as much as I would like a piston driven AR, the delton just felt gre...

44 Izhevsk's the quest continues/ got a DDR now

As some of you know collecting 44 Tula's has been a passion of mine, and while always on the lookout for odd balls I have at least got all the major variations. So needing something else to focus on I have also decided to focus on 44 Izhevsk's. Well I'm happy to report it has progressed to the poin...

Re: Ex-Snipers: My Thoughts

No offense taken Bill, I like the history of the ex-snipers, even if they where only used for training. I was just trying to explain why some people like ex-snipers and will pay a premium for them. As for providence, they have as much or more than most MN. A good example of a highly collectable MN ...

Re: Ex-Snipers: My Thoughts

Well someone has to speak up for the ex-snipers so here goes. I for one see nothing wrong with ex=snipers, even if there is a slight premium on them. They are a poor mans way to connect with a time when Russian snipers where extracting a heavy price on the Nazi's for invading and raping there count...

Got my 44 Izhevsk ex-sniper today, typical mix master refurb with screwed rear sling eschons and half liners on the front, and what looks like a Tula Hammer on the butt stock http://img28.imageshack.us/img28/8932/dsci0001tg.jpg http://img705.imageshack.us/img705/7218/dsci0003c.jpg http://img836.ima...

Re: SKS pics

That is a beautiful display of SKS's. I love my SKS and I didn't know much about it when I bought it. I knew it was a refurb with a painted bolt and metal parts but the only other thing I knew was it was all matching. When I shot it, it shot so smooth that I knew it was a keeper. Now I learn it is ...
